Dessert Goals Insights: 2 “Creators” Share How They Created Their Brand + Products!

The Nation’s Ultimate Dessert Fest Just Got a Whole Lot Sweeter!

Dessert Goals presented by Chase Sapphire® have an amazing lineup of dessert vendors participating in this year’s festival.

Taking place in Los Angeles’ very cool Evolve Project LA over two back-to-back weekends of unadulterated sugary joy, this year’s Tie Dye Tiki-themed event will feature exclusive desserts from some of the most talented confectionary creators in the nation. With general admission tickets available for only $15, guests may purchase their preferred time slot on November 9 + 10, 16 + 17 via eventbrite.

Attendees will love frolicking through this fabulous dessert wonderland in their most vibrant tropical and tie-dye attire while snapping fun pics and enjoying sweet indulgences only available at Dessert Goals!
Each vendor will own a category, so no two desserts will be alike. Dessert-lovers will have the chance to experience mouth-watering treats like homemade pop-tarts, boozy cake pops and crazy-flavored gummy bears!

This post is Part Two about the Dessert Goals festival in DTLA on 11/16 & 17!

Part One is located here: Dessert Goals Part 1!

If you have ever been to a Dessert Goals Festival or seen the videos and photos, you might be wondering what does it take to create a dessert that’s so unique that you could be part of Dessert Goals! Usually, people go to these events and think they can easily whip up something fabulous. Sometimes it’s easy – particularly if you have been cooking from scratch or like getting inspired by a recipe enough to tweak it to make it more your own creation. Other times, it’s because you want to participate in a contest or bake sale.
No matter how you get inspired, the inspiration is everything in terms of propelling and motivating you to keep on working on your cooking or baking skills and tweaking recipes.

While I was preparing the piece on Dessert Goals, I thought it would be interesting to interview a couple of the “creators” about how they got started. I sent questions to the Dessert Goals people and they helped cut the questions down and also find 2 willing and successful Dessert Goal participants to answer the questions:

Stuffed Cookies

Name of the person responding: Jennifer Malouf, Founder & CEO of Stuffed Cookies
Brand/product: Stuffed Cookies

Website URL: https://stuffed-cookies.com/

Instagram: @stuffedcookies

Question: When did you launch the brand?
Answer: September, 2014.

Question:
What was the first dessert you launched? How long did it take you to create the recipe?
Answer:
The first cookie I launched on our site was a chocolate hazelnut chip cookie stuffed with Nutella and topped with sea salt. It was named “The Original.” I first came up with the recipe in a class for culinary school where we had to come up with a dessert for our restaurant. It took about 2 weeks to come up with the recipe.

Q: Any gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan options available? How about Keto?
A: We currently do not at the moment, but are planning on launching an allergy-friendly assortment around the new year. Stay tuned!

Q: How many products are you featuring at the Dessert show and what are they?
A:
We will be featuring four of our top-selling cookies including:

Image from Stuffed Cookie Instagram account!

–Oreo Bday Cake – a vanilla brown butter cookies & cream cookie stuffed with Cookie Butter and topped with rainbow sprinkles (for those of you who aren’t familiar with Cookie Butter, go to your nearest Trader Joe’s right now and grab a jar of it, it’s LIFE CHANGING),
–Churro Y Horchata – a cinnamon brown butter cookie stuffed with horchata cream cheese frosting and topped with cinnamon sugar,
–Nutella Chocolate Chip – triple chocolate chip (milk, semi, and dark) brown butter cookie stuffed with Nutella and topped with sea salt,
— and our Slutty Cookie – vanilla and chocolate brown butter cookie loaded with sea salt caramel chips and stuffed with a layer of salted caramel, Oreo, and chocolate ganache.

We will also be selling a brand new product that’s been in the works for almost a year now. It’s not a cookie but it’s related to our product and it’s SO GOOD. We can’t say what it is just yet, so you’ll have to come to the event and find out for yourselves! 😉

Q: Of the products you are featuring at this event, what makes your brand stand out?
A:
Our creative cookie combinations allow us to stand out amongst our competition. We are not afraid to push boundaries and steer away from the basic cookie flavors. Also, our cookies are soft, delicious and melt in your mouth – so that definitely helps too.

Q: Do you listen to music when you are making these desserts? If so, what music do you usually listen to?
A: Absolutely! I’m always listening to music. My top picks when I’m working are: Weeknd, Odesza, Frank Ocean, and Shallou. Mostly chill music with a good beat.

Q: Why did you choose to be a vendor at Dessert Goals this year?
A: I was a vendor at Dessert Goals two years ago and absolutely loved it. Miraya does an amazing job curating it and I’m thrilled to be attending it again.

Q: Where would someone buy these fabulous desserts in Southern California?
A: Online or at Dessert Goals on November 16 & 17 at Evolve Project LA!

  1. If you are a marketing person, then you must know that by not emailing me directly but posting this on my blog, that you are spamming my readers.
You can easily send me an email. Why not do that, instead of posting spam. You make the company look bad when you do this.
