I answered the email that arrived in my inbox asking for more information and photos. They sent me plenty of both and then I went digging through Facebook to check out what information was on that site (TONS!!).

I was provided samples of CaPao to try out. I had never heard of this product before and I was curious about the flavor, texture and how I would feel after I ate some of these balls. I was able to review this food product because I had the samples. Without the samples, I would not have been able to review anything about the CaPao Smoothie Balls.
Here are the details on CaPao’s Cacao Beans:
CaPao is made from Cacao fruit..
- Cacao fruit is an ancient ‘Wonderfruit’ that, until now, has mostly been known for the cocoa beans that give us chocolate. But we discovered there is so much more that was simply being wasted.
- Cacaofruit has been grown by farmers in South America, Africa, and other tropical regions for centuries.
- The whole cacao fruit, which is comprised of the cocoa beans, husk, pulp, and cocoa butter, contains many nutrients, vitamins, and minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron, and fiber and has unique flavors and textures.
- However, once the cocoa beans are extracted for making chocolate, the remaining 75% of the fruit is underutilized or simply thrown away.
CaPao came about as a way of using more of the cacaofruit “leftovers” after the cocoa beans are extracted. The res of the cacaofruit is used in making CaPao!

REVIEW:
I was sent samples of the CaPao Smoothie Balls. They are smaller than a golf ball but about the size of a tootsie pop. You can see the flecks of color of the fruit, nuts, and other ingredients in these balls. They are soft to bite into (but not squishy) and the texture is really nice. I had 2 of the flavors back to back and it left me feeling full. It was quite satisfying (which is quite something for me to say since I am a chocoholic.). After I finished the two, I was not hungry at all and I felt that my sweet tooth was sated enough that I didn’t need to put the bag on my desk. I really do like the flavor and I can see that this would be good chopped up and mixed into yogurt or into a smoothie.
