The Lazy Whale
Ingredients:
+ 2 oz Gray Whale Gin
+ 3/4 oz lavender syrup – Directions for lavender syrup are below
+ 1/4 oz Parfait Amour liqueur
(You can find various brands of Parfait Amour at Total Wines + More and BevMo from Marie Brizard, Bols, Giffard. Check with your store as they are various prices.)
+ 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
+ soda water (to taste)
Method:
Add all ingredients except soda water to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Shake vigorously and strain into a glass.
Garnish with a sprig of lavender.
Lavender Syrup recipe:
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar,
1 cup water,
2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender
Method:
Add ingredients to a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved<
When the syrup comes to a simmer, cook for 2 more minutes.
Remove from heat and allow the syrup to steep for 10 minutes.
Strain out lavender and chill before use.
The Gin Quarantini (ft. Gray Whale Gin)
Ingredients:
+ 5:1 parts Gray Whale Gin and dry vermouth
+ 2 dashes orange bitters
Method:
Shake with ice,
Strain into a coupe,
Garnish with a lemon twist
I love the idea of a special treat that is part spirits and part sorbet. Gray Whale Gin has created a recipe that’s smoking hot as a frozen taste treat!
Gray Whale Sorbet
Ingredients:
+3 ounces Gray Whale Gin
+ 2 small cucumbers, chopped (about 1 cup)
+ ¼ cup honey
+ zest from 1 lime
+ juice from 2 limes
Method:
In a blender, mix together
–2 oz of Gray Whale Gin,
–honey,
–zest from 1 lime,
–juice from 2 limes,
–chopped cucumbers.
Blend until smooth.
Pour the mixture into a small baking dish.
Freeze for 4 to 6 hours or until almost solid.
When ready to serve, scoop the sorbet into glasses,
Top with lime zest and the remaining 1 oz of Gray Whale Gin.
Sip slowly or enjoy with a spoon.
