Celebrate 2022 with Great Cocktails for New Year’s Day!
Day 13 of the 12 Drinks of Christmas!
You might be shaking your head because I have featured Day 13 .. of the 12 Drinks of Christmas. It does seem a bit unusual, but it’s not. It’s just my way of sharing more cocktail recipes with you. Sharing these recipes with you is my way of celebrating New Year’s Day with you!
CARA MIA
Created with their signature Van Gogh Dutch Caramel and Van Gogh Double Espresso, this coffee-inspired creation makes the perfect happy hour drink or quick party cocktail.
RECIPE
2 oz. Van Gogh Dutch Caramel
1 oz Van Gogh Double Espresso
Or Van Gogh Espresso
1 oz. milk or cream
1 oz. espresso, chilled
Method:
Shake all ingredients very well with ice and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and ground cinnamon.
CARAMEL ZING
Created with our signature Dutch Caramel Vodka, this refreshing recipe makes the perfect fall cocktail. A simple cocktail to prepare, our Caramel Zing can be enjoyed casually or as a quick party cocktail.
RECIPE
2 oz. Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka
3 oz. ginger ale
1 squeezed lime wedge
Method:
Pour vodka and ginger ale into a rocks glass filled with ice and stir briefly.
Squeeze fresh lime juice on top.
Garnish with a cherry.
CHOCOLATE COVERED RASPBERRY MARTINI
Created with our signature Raspberry and Dutch Chocolate Vodka, this decadent recipe makes a perfect date-night cocktail. A simple cocktail to prepare, the Chocolate Covered Raspberry Martini can be enjoyed casually or as a quick party cocktail.
RECIPE
2 oz. Van Gogh Raspberry
1 oz. Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate
3/4 oz. Creme de cassis
Method:
Shake ingredients very well with ice.
Strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with raspberries on a pick.
Note: Double the recipe to serve for two.
GINGERSNAP
Created with our signature Vanilla Vodka, this holiday favorite is an irresistible winter cocktail. Simple to prepare, our Gingersnap can be enjoyed casually or as a quick dessert cocktail.
RECIPE
1 oz. Van Gogh Vanilla Vodka
1 oz. hazelnut liqueur
½ oz. butterscotch schnapps
2 oz. ginger beer
Method:
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice.
Shake well and pour into a tall glass.
Garnish with candied ginger.

Caorunn Gin!
Caorunn Tea Punch (makes 4-6 servings)
Ingredients:
1 3/4 oz. Freshly squeezed white grapefruit juice
1 3/4 oz. Freshly squeezed orange juice
1 3/4 oz Ginger syrup
5 oz. Caorunn
7 oz. Green cardamom and cinnamon-infused black tea
Method:
For the tea:
Brew a strong mug of tea, add 6-8 green cardamom pods, and two cinnamon sticks.
Leave to cool and strain into a punch bowl (diluted and sweetened to taste)
The Punch:
Add all ingredients to a punch bowl and fill with a large block of ice.
When ready to serve, add punch into glasses with fresh ice.
Garnish with apple slices.
Optional: add pink peppercorns and star anise.
Sparkling Winter Gimlet
(It’s a very tough choice to make, but this cocktail is my favorite!)
Ingredients:
2 oz. Caorunn Gin
3/4 oz. fresh lime juice
3/4 oz. simple syrup
½ oz. blood orange juice
1 oz. Champagne Palmer & Co Brut Réserve NV, chilled
Method:
Shake ingredients (don’t include the champagne) in a cocktail shaker with ice<
Strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
