- Timing is important – Black Friday and Cyber Monday are far from the only days of the year where you can get amazing deals online. Just like some restaurants run specials several days a week, you can also save money online shopping by shopping on the right day of the week. Statistically, the best days for online shopping discounts and sales are Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
- Join a rewards program – Rewards programs are a fantastic way to reward customers and give them some ownership of your program. Many customers build their best relationships with companies with good loyalty programs. There is even a subsection of society focused on points programs, and it’s easier to get into than it sounds. Just provide your personal info to the program of your choice, and watch the points add up. But don’t forget, giving out too much personal information means the chances of getting on scammers’ radars is greater, so be careful and only give your info to a reputable company or program.
- Focus on applications – With mobile phone usage surpassing PC usage for shopping and browsing, it’s important to use applications to save money. Using a business application is a great way to stay close to your favorite brands, earn rewards, and see when discounts and sales come up. Try using a free application to track prices on your favorite products, or download your favorite vendor’s application for targeted discounts.
- Follow bloggers – If you don’t have the time for in-depth research, there are several easy options. Follow a blogger with insider access, and even sign up for their weekly marketing emails for special deals. If you can act fast, this is a great way to get discounts on goods and services, and even typically expensive things like airfare and travel. It also simplifies the process of searching for discounts, with handy alerts and email marketing at your fingertips, 24 hours a day.
- Use a credit card – Using a credit card is a great way to make safe purchases online, with added fraud protection on the company end; but did you know you can also get points from using your credit card on your favorite purchases? For example, if you fly often on a particular airline, or participate in their rewards program, consider getting the corresponding credit card to up your points intake!
- Use social media – Social media shopping is a great way to find new and up-and-coming brands and companies, to watch your favorite companies grow, and also to discover new, local shops or stores in your own area.
