It’s not easy having a party. There’s always a lot of preparation. (If you are saying what preparation– then you are having a casual spontaneous get-together and not a planned event). When I say party, I invite as many people as I can think of and are on my evite list plus those who are new to my world and I just invite *everyone*!! (Really! I do that.) However in doing that, I have a thought/theme in mind and some ideas about what to serve and I start thinking about the cocktail that I want to serve and what food I can build around that (or the reverse).
Since my parties are “share a dish” and virtually everyone knows it, I have a variety of food but I still make an effort to put things together that are fairly substantial so in case someone comes in famished, they aren’t facing a mountain of desserts!
Courtesy of celebrity event planner, Cathy Riva, we have somme great new ideas to think about and implement. (*I am going to use that brown paper wrapping!! So genius!)
I love the thought of Sauza Tequila. I have used a lot of vodka and gin in the past and not a lot of tequila and it’s a great mix particularly since it works extremely well for blended and pitcher drinks! Imagine the cranberry or pomegranate margarita blended? YUMMY!!
Thank you to Cathy Riva and her great tips.
