This is part 2 of the interview with “denim visionary” Michael Glasser, who with partner Cookie Johnson, have created a truly revolutionary line of denim that fits a niche that no other line has tapped into before– one that fits the average woman– regardless of age. This denim line is designed to fit a woman (17 or 70) with curves: those with thighs, a butt,
and hips — or any combination thereof.
Based on my own interviews and chatroom and fashion forum conversations, most women hate trying on jeans because it’s not meant for the average woman but a slim woman without much shape. Now there is a new line that fits that average woman– and really provides serious style cred that every woman wants in jeans and yet they fit easily, comfortably and provide a chic look.

FYI: there were some fabulous snacks and drinks there that day — including organic tartlets that were virtually calorie free according to one server (hah!). Also dj-ing this event was Mc Lyte, a friend of Cookie Johnson who is featured here a bit in this video clip.
Michael Glasser and I talk about the denim business and how it’s doing in this economy and about what Cj by Cookie Johnson line will do in light of the economy. Give a woman something that she can wear– easily– day or night and dress up or down and have it feel and look great (excuse me, “sexy”) and then she will buy it. (And wouldn’t you buy a pair of jeans that made your body look amazing? I would)
The economy comes up and how Glasser works his manufacturing plans to make sure that
the turn-around as stores are selling out of these jeans. He’s genius at this kind of thing. Michael’s just plain fun to talk to — because he’s so incredibly knowledgeable.
There’s a LOT at the end of this segment!!
Thank you to Michael Glasser for his time and information.
