You are hoping to lose a few pounds and have given up chocolate and other sweet treats. WHY? Yes, that’s right- I am asking why? You can still get your daily dose of chocolate AND get some calcium too with Yoplait Light Yogurts
Would chocolate mousse be do-able for you? Here’s an easy, tasty and also lower-calorie version that you can treat yourself to when you have had a great workout or just to be really good to yourself.
Perfect for a light dessert or an afternoon snack, this version of “mousse au chocolate” treat is simple to serve in large quantities– so even if you’re not anything close to Julie or Julia Child, this will be an impressive treat.
Recipe SNEAK PEEK: Easy Milk Chocolate Mousse
1 1/2 cups milk,
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips,
1 box (4-serving size) chocolate instant pudding and pie filling mix,
1 container (6 oz) Yoplait® Light Fat Free black forest cake yogurt,
1 1/2 cups frozen (thawed) fat-free whipped topping,
1 1/2 cups fresh dark sweet cherries, pitted, cut into fourths
Directions:
1. In 1-quart saucepan, mix 1/4 cup of the milk and the chocolate chips.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted.
2. In medium bowl, mix remaining 1 1/4 cups milk and the pudding mix. Beat with whisk 1 to 2 minutes or until mixture is well blended; stir in yogurt.
3. Blend melted chocolate into pudding mixture; fold in whipped topping. Spoon into 6 dessert bowls. Top each with cherries. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve. Store covered in refrigerator.
Smart Move for the Week– aka SWAPPORTUNITY. You don’t have to be limited to swapping food. How about changing up your workout too? I do Wii Fit, pilates, other Just Dance Wii workouts for the fun of it. I also like yoga as well so try Vinyasa- Flow Yoga.
The word Vinyasa means “breathe synchronized movement,” meaning your instructor guides students from pose to pose on an inhale or an exhale. There is no rulebook for this style, so anyone can try it! Remember:
SWAP Coach Tip of the Week:
This week, Swap in an apple or a different piece of fruit a few hours before a meal.
Foods with fiber, such as many fruits, can help increase your feeling of fullness, helping you to not overeat. An apple fills you up before it fills you out!
Who’s got a good #swapportunity to share? Tweet us @YoplaitYogurt and tell us all about it!
I found that using greek yogurt (plain) mixed with thawed frozen or fresh and microwaved spinach mixed with some microwaved or steamed kale with a bit of spice (pepper, mediterranean spices, paprika etc) makes a great dip for fresh sliced veggies or baby carrots.
