Just in time for Halloweeen, since it is now OCT is a final post about Fashion Night Out courtesy of Stylecoven.com’s Marie Bargas. Why just in time? Because we are talking about Azature’s Black Diamond Polish that’s ideal for Halloween. You need to buy it early so you have a bit of time to play with it as Barbara Warner suggested in the previous post/podcast about understones of other colors to give the black a little bit of a tweak or if you want to go dark goth with the SIX coats of black polish!!
This year’s FNO in West Hollywood came on the heels of an unbearable heat wave, so when my gal pal Brenda Salamone and I set out for West Hollywood we were in a desperate search for something cool. But, what we found at Ron Robinson at Fred Segal on Melrose was delightfully haute.

Aside from a refreshing selection of sparkling cold sake and champagne served in little pink cans (gauche) the ambiance was typical LA hipster with a dash of excitement that reminded me of the electro-vibe of the old Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Smash Box. In fact many familiar faces crowded into Fred Segal and I was lucky to share a French cigarette with the Head of Sales for True Religion in Germany on the black top outside and away from the prying eyes of the Weho cops who would have given me a ticket in a heartbeat. Brenda and I were there extra long because I had to wait patiently for the 6 coats of Azature’s Black Diamond Nail polish to dry or celeb manicurist Barbara Warner would have killed me for ruining her divine handiwork. We has such fun dishing about her recent celebrity clients who Barbara shared tidbits about. The mood was festive and it felt more like a party instead of a shopping expedition and we were loathe to leave, but we rushed onward to 90210.

When a miracle of a parking space appeared on La Cienega just a block away from the Porche Dealership Brenda decided that she could brave the block walk in high heels just not to get trapped in the usual after party valet nightmare. We were suddenly swarmed with people waiting in a ridiculously long line, when it was discovered that we were not on the list. I dropped Stevie’s name and we were escorted in through a back entrance and away from the line in time to avoid a rowe between two “Persian princesses” in what a friend of mine terms as “ugly” Kardashian dresses. Lol! Once inside, I made a beeline to Napoleon Perdis and discovered that spray on foundation is the wave of my future. Aside from matching my skin tone perfectly I was sprayed from my face to my cleavage and everything matched for a change. The crowd around the runway for the fashion show was intimidating and the air conditioning seemed noticeably weak, so we fled back into the night.
