The multi-talented and creative David Brogan is no stranger to this blog and I am featuring him here today THANKSGIVING DAY as a way to help you get your drink of the day set up– (yes someone has to hit the store, but it’s not a lot of ingredients so you can do the express lane).
This is the perfect light and refreshing libation for your Thanksgiving celebration! It combines muddled orange, cranberries and candied ginger with Onyx Moonshine and white cranberry juice and it’s topped off with sparkling apple cider!

It’s RECIPE time!
“The Thanksgiving Smash”
created by Mixologist David Brogan of signaturedavid.com and Onyx Moonshine.
1 Orange Slice
8 Cranberries
1 Slice of Candied Ginger
2 oz Onyx Moonshine
2 oz White Cranberry Juice
Sparkling Apple Cider (Think Martinelli’s or any other brand available!)
Muddle the Orange Slice, Cranberries and Candied Ginger in the bottom of the mixing glass.
Add ice, the Onyx and the White Cranberry Juice.
Shake well and strain over fresh ice in a tall glass.
Top with Sparkling Apple Cider.
Garnish with a piece of Candied Ginger on a skewer.
CAVEAT!!
Onyx is currently only available in CT and MA, so many of you won’t be able to make this cocktail since Onyx may not be sold where you live.
