Father’s Day often turns out to be a bland day of lots of sports, lots of food and lots of gifts. Why not do Dad a favor and add a little spice to his holiday menu with Busha Browne’s condiments that will make it super-easy to give a meal some zest and spice as well as a great sip– a special Spicy Dry Martini!!
Disclosure: Thanks to Busha Browne for the samples they sent me some months ago. A little goes a long ways– particularly if you are dealing in JERK SEASONING!! This is one of the best condiment collections that I have found. So much fun to play with too!
Busha Browne’s Spicy Dry Martini
Ingredients
1 tsp Extra-dry Vermouth
2 oz Dry Gin (Try Hendricks, Leopold’s American Small Batch Gin, or Bombay Sapphire Gin)
1 1/2 tsp of Busha Browne Spicy & Hot Pepper Sherry
Directions
In a chilled, heavy-bottomed 4oz glass, place 2 cubes of ice.
Pour over the vermouth, gin and the Busha Browne Spicy & Hot Pepper Sherry.
Stir quickly
Garnish: add an olive or a cocktail onion as preferred.
This makes a great pitcher drink, so do think about chilling a pitcher, glasses and the gin to mix this up!
Busha Browne Honey Jerk Grilled Drumsticks
Ingredients
8 chicken drumsticks ( If you think you can get away with just 8 drumsticks, more power to you. Try doubling that number and freezing what you don’t eat)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Vegetable cooking spray
Busha Browne Honey Jerk BBQ Sauce
Garnishes: fresh cilantro leaves, lime wedges
Directions
Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Let stand, covered, 30 minutes.Coat cold cooking grate of grill with cooking spray, and place on grill. Preheat grill to 350º to 400° (medium-high) heat. Grill chicken, covered with grill lid, 5 to 10 minutes on each side or until browned. Reduce grill temperature to 250º to 300° (low) heat; grill chicken, covered with grill lid, 20 to 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare Busha Browne’s Honey Jerk BBQ Sauce. Reserve 1 cup sauce. Brush chicken with remaining barbecue sauce. Cover with grill lid, and grill 10 more minutes or until done. Serve chicken with reserved 1 cup barbecue sauce. Garnish, if desired. Enjoy.
You can use this same recipe to make chicken wings, sliders, cocktail hot dogs, pulled pork and many other “small bites or plates”.
