Citadel Outlets to Host Lunar New Year Festivities Jan. 15 to Feb. 16
Shoppers can enjoy red envelope giveaways, traditional dances and musical performances in front of a 17-foot pagoda
WHAT:
Celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rat!
Citadel Outlets will host a plethora of cultural activities and will be decked out in festive décor, including a 17-foot pagoda centerpiece and red and gold lanterns.
Guests can enjoy lion dances and dragon dances by the Los Angeles Chinese Cultural Center and Shaolin Entertainment Group during the first two days of Lunar New Year, Jan. 25 and 26.
Brush painting, calligraphy and other cultural festivities will also be available for free for guests’ enjoyment.
In addition, Citadel Outlets will be honoring the traditional “Red Envelope” gifting tradition by giving away red envelopes filled with gift cards and store promotions at Customer Service from Jan. 15 to Feb. 16.
Interested shoppers can join in the fun by saying the phrase “Xin nian kuai le” or “Gong xi fa cai” which means “Happy New Year” to receive a complimentary red envelope. The tradition, symbolizing good luck and well wishes for the New Year, is a gift from Citadel Outlets to express appreciation for the center’s wonderful shoppers and guests from all over the world.
