KATY PERRY: Yesterday. Today. Guest Post from Mike Nappa, FamilyFans.com
Courtesy of FamilyFans.com and most notably, writer Mike Nappa, we are featuring this very insightful article/interviw with Katy Perry. What’s cool about this — beyond that she’s a hugely popular singer/songerwriter/musician and celebrity (*note what the last word is)- is that Katy Perry is a person with her own life and her own journey to walk– both past and present. That’s what Mike Nappa is showing us today: the rise of the singer and what she has experienced and learned along the way. Read the rest of this entry »
Secrets of the Red Carpet: Get the Glow from Sonya Dakar Skin Clinic & Paleta’s Detox Dual Treatments!!
Nothing is better in LA than a gorgeous day except if you are invited to a celebrity suite at Sonya Dakar’s Skin Clinic!! I was invited to attend and while I have been to the Dakar Clinic many times, I had never met Sonya Dakar. I know Chef Kelly Boyer of Paleta and am obsessed with her food, pressed juices and detox regimens. This is a healthy food regimen that’s healthy and can beef up your protein if you need it because you are working out or recovering from surgery or if you want to take off a few pounds!
It’s amazing gourmet food that doesn’t taste like a diet. YUMMMY! So I got to meet Sonya and see one of my favorite people all in the same day at the same place!

StyleLab Returns with Michael O’Connor and FABULOUS Emmy Jewelry!!
Red Carpet events are always fun– well fun if you are going to the fun places with the ability to talk to people and get some inside scoop on what’s happening behind the scenes. That’s what I love about StyleLab– a typically stylist and celebrity only event that is just about jewelry for the red carpet!

Celebrity Style Slam: Who “Hit a Home Run”, “Base Hit”; and the “What Were They Thinking” Crowd!! Part 2
- The most interesting part of the “red carpet” events happens to be the actual RED CARPET itself– meaning watching all the celebs walk down the red carpet and talk to the press- particularly the women who are quizzed about the fashions they are wearing. Here’s my short version this time as everyone from Nancy Lichtenstein to Karen Starr DelloIancono are swamped to their eyeballs. I don’t even think they watched the show. (To be honest, I didn’t either. I was busy pulling images!)
Taking a page from the baseball, let’s make this evaluation easy to understand about what was right, what was missing, what was a mistake and how it could have been fixed. Since I am doing this solo without a podcast, I am going to split this up into a couple of posts so that you don’t spend an hour looking at this because that’s waaaaaaay too long. So here’s what I have for today: the Base Hit and the ” What Were They Thinking”? groups.
