About The One Voice Program:
The One Voice Emergency Relief and Family Program provides immediate intervention and relief services to low-income families in crisis situations. We work with a number of delegate Head Start agencies (federally funded preschool programs overseeing 8,000 poverty level families in the Los Angeles area) who make direct referrals to us identifying families who are in critical need.
Our program provides food, payment of rent and utilities, medical expenses, clothing and shoes, funeral expenses and necessary resources. Often we have intervened to provide food to families and children who have not eaten for days, turned on gas and electricity for people living without them, and paid rent in order to keep families from becoming homeless.
The goal of this program is to help families manage a specific crisis and help them get back on their feet. We provide immediate crisis intervention with no red tape so families can emerge from a period of hardship and regain their independence.

Spectrum Wine Auctions Debut Auction Hits 11/21 with Unique Features for Bidding!
Spectrum Wine Auctions is an innovative live and online auction house of fine collectible wines. It has its’ debut auction on November 21 and is utilizing its’ website, www.spectrumwine.com to post has a full online catalog and lot profiles. Visitors and registrants for the auction will experience 2 features never seen from any auction house: Spectrum has created unique 360-degree photographs of two hundred (almost one third) of the lots. Plus the auction features single estimates for each of the lots which is extraordinary.

“The process offered us a chance to innovate, and to fill gaps in the industry that we felt it well worth the effort and expense to fill,” says Spectrum Wine Auctions CEO Greg Roberts. It shows the buyers EXACTLY what they are getting. These images–22 photos per 360-degree view–amount to a DNA fingerprint of each lot clients can use as a reference guide. There is no mistaking the provenance and integrity of the bottles. It’s also a fresh way for online visitors to evaluate the lots and shows them the wine in a way they haven’t seen before.”
Buyers and sellers will appreciate WineSpectrum.com’s innovative approach to this auction employing a single estimate for each lot. Traditionally auction houses often give estimates in ranges so broad as to undecipherable.
“The fact is, a single estimate benefits the consignor AND the collector,” Roberts explains. “Quite simply, we feel it’s more accurate. It gives a bidder a strong center point around which to structure their bidding strategy, whether they are bidding for value or are feeling more adventurous.”
Spectrum applied these two firsts to an auction of uncommon value and heritage. The bulk of the 5500 bottle, 686-lot collection– 3800 bottles — comes from The Collection of Aubrey McClendon, arguably one of America’s greatest collectors. As CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, (NYSE:CHK), one of the US’ largest natural gas producers, McClendon amassed the resources and resolve to create a collection of nearly unprecedented range and quality.
Debutante Clothing's Sandra Gives You Tips on How to Measure Fit for Vintage Styles
Debutante Clothing’s Sandra is amazing.

She’s been rocking the vintage beat for a while and when I first met her “irl” (in real life) she looked like a super hot, fashionista version of America Ferrara’s Ugly Betty (that’s when the show first came out). The only person I know who can pull off an animal print dress and “own it”.. Really– I can’t do that or maybe I haven’t found the right animal (maybe fur and mink coats are more my thing but I don’t see me wearing those either) .
Sandra and I were talking about a week ago about what’s up with the vintage world. While everyone is talking about wearing vintage, people are trying to score the Diors, Chanels, Thierry Mugler and Halston dresses. Sorry girlie girls, but you aren’t going to find those for less than 4 figures unless it’s an accessory. Even then, it’s not going to be inexpensive.
We got to talking about how to find great vintage and my question to her was how to find something that fits. I have trouble online (read Ebay) and finding things that are going to fit me across the shoulders, the bust and not have a huge skirt that once altered ruins the look of the dress. Sandra gave me some good shopping advice in a post she wrote a while back about how to shop online and also tipped me off to a great instructional video she put together on how to take your measurements and this one is a MUST SEE . I am making it easy so that you see it below.
Debutante Clothing: Vintage 101– How to take your measurements
FYI: don’t you just love Sandra’s ring, bracelet and necklace? I notice little things like that.

Secrets of the Red Carpet: How to Get that Gorgeous Hair Style — Courtesy of Pureology!!
As sleek and sexy fashions ruled the red carpet this year ( ok.. for the most part. Some didn’t exactly follow that trend and that’s an entirely different “oprah” if you catch my drift) at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards while hair was a bit more simple and under-stated but this elegant simplicity underscored some of the fashion statements and the overall Grammy look.

Pureology PureArtists Mary Katherine Hecht, Christopher Devaney, April Webster and Byu-ti/Pureology Salon owner Natasha Sunshine give their top three hair trends and step-by-steps from music’s biggest night.
Trends:
40′s Glamour Up-do as seen on Nicole Kidman and Taylor Swift
40′s Glamour Up-do
Apply even amounts of Essential Repair InstantRepair, SuperSmooth RelaxingSerum and NanoGlaze to wet hair. Comb through evenly with a wide tooth comb.
Create a side part, diffuse hair allowing the hairs enhanced natural curl and texture to show through.
When the hair is dry, roll the back section (ear to ear) under and pin with large hair pins. This creates a faux bob line.
Take the remaining side sections and continue to roll the hair under to your desired length and pin this section to the back section creating a looser and relaxed and look to the front. Emulsify DryShine Hairstyler in your hands and gently massage the hair until you have a textured and relaxed look all over.
Finish this look off with Glossing Mist for incredible shine and InChargePlus Firm Finishing Spray for hold.
