Going Black, White or Black + White Dresses on Golden Globes Red Carpet! #Podcast #3
The little black dress is ubiquitous on the red carpet. I remember seeing a sea of black and dark tones just 2 years ago and things have changed some (lots more brights!) – just not enough because some of the LBD or LBG (little black gown) were just B-O-R-I-N-G! Pshaw!! Why?
I guess some were playing it safe, others didn’t care and still others need to hire a stylist. If you are going to go black then think about what you are going to do to the accessories to make it special!

Every New Year, I create my personal list of accomplishments to shoot for. It’s no different for me in the kitchen except that I don’t really like to cook all that much. I don’t like the clean-up and I don’t like trying to navigate the market finding the best prices on various products. (That issue on shopping only got better when I learned that I could use it as a shopping skill-set to put notches on my “shopping” belt on how much money I could save on the most stuff in the basket! 2013 was an interesting year for that- but I didn’t always cook smart things. I didn’t always buy the best products. Sometimes I bought the wrong things- junk or not ripe or too ripe or something I just messed up with the recipe (*like trying to fudge it.)

Short of actually being on the red carpet, most of us don’t get that opportunity to see the clothing and the celebrities wearing the clothing in real life and up close. The guest expert I have today has been the Fashion Designer and Stylist for the Golden Globes for 20 years and has been a celebrity designer and stylist for more time than that!

At the Golden Globes last night, there were many many great hairstyles. As expected there were a few beautiful chignons on gorgeous women, but the most interesting red carpet hair trend was the “undone” (read slightly messy) and natural hair. Thankfully very few styles with hair that is stiff as a board or overwrought in terms of styling products.
