At the time of the pre-Christmas videos, Sylvie and Christopher shared their new scent with me and let me smell it. I was able to get them on video but I had to swear that I would keep it secret– which I did and I would not tell anyone about the new scent– which I kept that promise! (SEE!!! I can keep a promise. I can keep a secret and I don’t tell *anyone*)
The fragrance launched on February 1 and I am now just launching this video so that you can see and hear Sylvie and Christopher tell you a tiny bit about it.

What we discussed off camera was that this was a more masculine scent that would definitely be wearable by a woman. It’s intricately masculine because the notes keep popping up here and there but it’s also sensational on a woman — bonus– it lasts all day. The scent lingers on the skin like a lovers caress.
Created by Ralf Schwieger for Atelier Cologne, blogger Ca Fleure Bon talked to Schwieger about the notes which I was unable to really get a handle on at the time the video was recorded– other than the fragrance was intoxicating.

“Vanilla pods are black and strong, rather bitter than sweet: Vanille Insensée highlights the dark side of natural Vanilla in an association with oakwood and oakmoss, making it easily accessible for women and men. Freshness and transparency is key though, here provided by jasmine, coriander and lime.
It is difficult to work with Vanilla – the result can be easily cloying and heavy, especially in fruity interpretations. Here I tried to open another door, the black one, which gives access to the spicy floral heart.”
As Schwieger indicated, this is not a typical vanilla fragrance. You do smell it but it’s not that caramel, cotton candy sweetness but a dark side, like dark molasses or sugar carmelized to the point of almost bitterness but just a few steps back. This has other notes as well that bring it up a touch lighter so that it can be worn by day or night. I found that when I met Sylvie and Christophe in December, it lasted for several hours.. and it was still a faint scent the next morning on my skin.
Sexy doesn’t begin to describe this fragrance: sensual, intoxicating, mesmerizing, unusual and deep are words I would use to describe it.
While the video says it’s on Luckyscent.com,..it’s not yet. I have to check to see if it’s at Scentbar– otherwise I go back into edit this video.
