“Born Under a Lucky Moon” Updates “Ya-Ya Sisterhood” + a Book Signing!

Born Under a Lucky Moon has some great endorsements out of the box:
Sarah Elizabehth Phillips (New York Times best selling author) commented

“Lucky the reader who picks up this funny, charming and touching debut novel. I loved it.”

Born Under a Lucky Moon is a “real life events” tale recounting the story of two very important years in the lives of Jeannie Thompson and her colorful family members to whom “things” just seem to happen. When I say “real life” — it’s just that. It’s a true life tale spun into fiction because no one would believe that this could happen to anyone — but it does and Dana Precious has done a bang-up job in transforming her personal history into an entertaining, engrossing and lovely tale. Dana Precious is talented and gets you engrossed in her tale of the life of Jeannie Thompson that one would think it was fantasy spun out of strange nonsensical dreams- but those dreams were real life and managed to find pathos, whimsy and meaning in all these characters, events and aspects and turned them into a something more than a romance novel.
As “contemporary women’s fiction” is a new labeled category, this is a story that reaches behind the female demographic and would be appreciated by men who like to read compelling fiction.

The book synopsis follows

” Set in 1986, the story straddles back and forth from the Great Lakes of Michigan to Los Angeles, California. It is a story of surprise marriages, a renegade granny, a sprinkler system cursed by the gods, and myriad other factors Jeannie blames for her full-tilt, out-of-control existence. But it’s also about good surprises—like an unexpected proposal that might just open Jeannie’s eyes to her real place, among the people she loves most in the world. As the author explains, it was very important for her to write “a warm comedy that understood that families are complicated but that they still love each other deeply. I wanted to make readers feel good and laugh.”

For those lucky enough to live in the Southern California area, Dana Precious has a book signing in Santa Monica at the Barnes & Noble store at the Third Street Promenade on Feb 17th, at 7 PM.
Worth marking on your calendar and scooping up some bff’s and heading over for a signing and then grab some girl time to chat about Dana Precious’ new book

  1. Thanks Stevie for the kind words! I am working with Dana on this book and am so excited. I thought this book was a really fun and heartwarming read that anyone with a crazy family can relate to (aren’t all families crazy in their own way?). I also wanted to remind everyone that they can read sample chapters at http://www.bornunderaluckymoon.com. Or, find Dana online at:
