My basic metaphor in explaining twitter.com is that it’s a giant cocktail party with anyone and everyone you might want to meet — and more that you didn’t know that you needed to meet! If you have attended cocktail parties, you know that it’s ok to introduce yourself but if the conversation only revolves around you, then you lost everyone you have met and they walk away. So instead you engage in small talk but also in some interesting topics that can be handled with small soundbites and gives someone a good reason to contact you in the future.
Keep your eyes peeled for more on social media, digital media, engagement and things like the economy and topics with more depth.
