Lights, camera, action! Tonight’s 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® presented thirteen awards for acting in film and television, but the pre-show red carpet glam shared the spotlight! Jenny Balding, NYC Cutler/Redken Styling and Grooming Expert, shares her favorite SAG styles and steps for how your readers can recreate these looks for their personal red carpet event!

1) Blow dry hair with natural volume and soft movement throughout. ((Jonathan Product DIRT Texturizing Spray would be a good fit)

2)Sweep into the nape of the neck and place closely and pin to secure

1) Blow dry hair very smooth with a round brush

2) Use a large curling iron to create an ‘s’ shaped wave throughout the front hairline and through the mid length to the ends
Brush through to enhance a luxurious feel.

3)Instead of pinning hair under, roll hair up and pin lightly at the nape and sides

1)Make sure to keep layers slightly longer through the top area, but shaggy and textured to create an even flow throughout.

2)Have hair trimmed close to the nape so the weight is taken away from the ear area.

3) Style by using a light paste or styling wax.

Prior to moving to New York, Jenny was based in the UK where she pursued her love of hairstyling at the early age of 18 and became Art Director & Director of Education at the legendary Rita Rusk International in Glasgow, and then Creative Director of the Alternative Hair Show, the most prestigious hair show in the world. Jenny has been featured in top publications such as Allure and Harper’s Bazaar, and on television programs including The Rachael Ray Show, Extra!, Good Day New York, and the CW 11 Morning News.
