The Bounty of Summer Beauty
Summer is my favorite time of year. Why? Because I tend to wear clothing that is more body conscious and shows more skin (bathing suits), I use more products to make the hair, face, skin, body look better.
Here’s some cool new products you might want to check out. Also listen to the podcast for today to hear more about products that have caught my eye (and my credit card) . The ones here in this blog are but a few that I have been playing with!
Amore Pacific Time Response Skin Renewal Creme is a cream for those who are really concerned with anti-aging. If you have spent far too much time in the sun or not treated skin well, this creme contains stabilized EGCG (a polyphenol from the purest and rarest green tea) mixed with Bio-GF1K, a form Red Korean ginseng that stimulates collagen production. These two ingredients along with other botanicals will jumpstart the ability of the cells to take in nutrients; enhance the moisture-retenttion and -utlitmately- the thickness of the epidermal cells. It helps resist changes to DNA and the ravages of UV exposure. The bottom line is that skin is firmer, more resilient and looks brighter. Available at Bergdorf Goodman and the Amore Pacific Spa, 114 Spring St. New York.

Summer = sunshine and sunshine = tan and tan = ???
What does it all mean? If you read my earlier blog, you know that it means sunblock! However that doesn’t mean forgoing being bronzed and beautiful!
Do the self-tanning route! There are a number of products at the department store level including Clarins and Osmotics who have amazingling gorgeous self-tanner cremes and lotions that leave you bronzed–not orange. Lancome features a range of self-tanning products from medium to deep. Turn to the drugstore level and the L’Oreal Sublime Bronze has been winning raves along with the Banana Boat Mousse (for that easy, moisture-rich self-tanner).
One of my favorites is from Scott Barnes. His Self Tanning Mist and the Self Tanning Cream give you that JLO golden bronze that makes you look like you have spent the week in the Caribbean. For super-fast results, use the Self Tanning Mist for a spray and go golden tan that doesn’t require any rubbing and dries in ten minutes or less! (Scott Barnes tip: use a hair-dryer to speed the drying process!) It can even be used on the face.
For a deeper glow with rich botanical moisture, try the Self Tanning Cream. This luxuriously rich cream leaves a golden shimmer on the skin so that you look like you have been kissed by the sun-god. These fab self-tanners smell great too thanks to a green tea fragrance. No more icky smell. You are good –and golden- to go in nothing flat. Available at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores and at Scottbarnes.com
This is just the beginning of "summer beauty" posts. So hang in there. Check back often. Maybe you found a product that I should check out? Or perhaps you want to see diffferent things. We’ve got lots of time–after all it takes about 10 minutes for the bronzer to dry (grin) so kick back and talk to me!
See you around the beauty counter (or the beach!)–and don’t forget to listen to today’s podcast!
