Get UGLY! UGLY Dolls Star in Zathura
Maybe you aren’t familiar with UGLY DOLLS and maybe you are. These "so ugly they are cute and adorable" dolls are well known to celebrities and media types as they show up at several different movie events.
But you are soon to find them EVERYWHERE starting next 11/11/2005 because of the movie Zathura, a movie from Columbia and Sony Pictures and spun off from the book Zathura whose author wrote Jumanji, that quirky film of about a decade ago. Not just for kids, adults will get the best part of this similarly quirky film that’s entertaining on lots of different levels. The movie, directed by Jon Favreau, stars Tim Robbins and introduces Jonah Bobo who plays one of the boys.
Wait a minute: Zathura + Ugly Dolls = ????????
Not so fast! I am getting there: it does take time to set up the premise of some of these posts! Making a serious splash is the Ugly Doll character, Wedgehead! Wedgehead is seen on a tee worn by one of the children in this film and is in so many scenes, that Wedge (as his friends call him) should be getting screen credit.
(Babo done in vinyl)
Babo sightings aren’t just found in theaters however.
Jennifer Weiner’s new book released a couple months ago, ‘Goodnight Nobody’ has an Uglydoll woven through the story and even makes a guest appearance on the back cover.
So if these critters are so popular and found in books and movies, how come you aren’t familiar wit them? Well they are about to explode on the scene and will be one of the HOT toys for both adults and children this holiday season.
WHOA.. wait a minute. You know I must be missing a few brain cells.. adult gifts????? YES, Adult gifts because these critters are too cute for just school kids and they definitely have an attitude all their own.
What’s hot about these great dolls is that they are full of attitude. Each doll comes complete with attitude and perspective and you will find that you love your Ugly Doll as much as any kid. You might even have to fight your dog or cat for them too since animals totally see that these creatures are totally lovable.
Here’s the roster of Ugly Dolls. Ugly Dolls come in large size as well as "Little Uglys" which are minis and even key chain sizes (so you never have to go without your Ugly Doll). They are found on tees for men, women and kids as well as in vinyl for those too drooly for fabric
The women’s tee features Wedgehead
This is IceBat ( one of my favorites)
Here’s Wage and Babo.
These are Ugly Dogs –ugly enough to scare off any kitty or prowler.
Ox and Wedge are key dolls in the contingent.

Girls Target Tee
and a guy’s Cinko tee
Tray says welcome and peace to the 3 new Ugly Dolls that are soon to make their debut:
Bop and Beep and
Green Wage ( brother to the other Wage) can be pre-ordered for your very own.
These cute little guys need homes and your home is preferable unless you can find a good home with some child ( miniature or large size child — it doesn’t matter)
Where to find your Ugly Doll? Check out Uglydoll.com for the best selection but also there are a number of online stores as well as brick and mortar stores where you can score your very own Ugly Doll. Ugly Dolls have been spotted at Tower Records, MOCA, and the Whitney Museum– but when sighted, they tend to disappear fast.
Do make sure you check out the movie Zathura at Zathura.com. Also read Jennifer Weiner’s book Goodnight Nobody, a quasi-mystery + chick lit book in one easy container. Babo says he likes the attention and adoration and since he’s not very patient, he needs to see you there at the movie and reading the book.
Ugly Dolls make great gifts for those who have everything–because you KNOW they don’t have Ugly Dolls!
That’s the LA Story!
