Exercise and dessert are typically anti-thetical nouns, ideas and activities. Particularly when it’s summer and swimwear, tank tops, shorts, and dresses are part of your daily apparel, it might seem downright impossible.
Well maybe not quite!! I found something in the LA Times in Thursday’s food section. The most eye-catching item on the page was this cool ball! What’s special about this ball and what does it have to do with food?
This ball makes home-made ice cream in about 30 minutes.
Assemble all the ingredients, fill it up with ice and rock salt and screw on the lid. Then start rolling it or passing it back and forth. How is this exercise? This sucker can get pretty heavy — particularly the quart size and it will work your muscles pretty well if you pass it around to your friends or just pass it around your waist much like a hula hoop. It’s like a medicine ball with another person or by yourself (though that’s pretty boring).
Created by Ice Cream Revolution (or parent company Industrial Revolution which makes a slew of interesting cooking and camping products), this is definitely going to give you a workout — particularly keeping it from being thrown or dropped.
It does churn out some of the best ice cream seen around according to the LA Times and I have a notion that I might have to buy one of the pint size (though my penchant for parties makes a quart or 2 more reasonable options) .
Check it out at http://icecreamrevolution.com because it will make it a fun summer.
