Monica Botkier made quite a name for herself since I first “met” her. Once upon a time, someone (thank you Yana!) sent me an email with a single picture of a bag that was simply entitled Trigger. I asked for the PR connection and I was sent a phone number. I called it immediately and on the other end was Monica Botkier, photographer and designer of said Trigger handbag.
Trigger Bag
We talked for quite a while and I ran her story in a tiny monthly magazine + online website– and she even got some orders — via her own phone because at that time she was still under contruction for website, and even the bags were still being manufactured. Turns out I was the second person in the US to write about her bags.

Since that time, it’s been a rollercoaster ride for Monica Botkier as her Trigger bag has undergone a metamorphisis and an evolution into other styles, fabrications, colors and now is an accessories brand of shoes, bags, cuffs and more that are carried at the chicest boutiques, stores like Barneys and online at the hippest of e-commerce sites.
And now she has arrived with a special collection for TARGET stores and Target.com
Her collection is collection of non-leather bags done in metallics, deep jewel tones and faux python ranging from about $20- $50.00 in price, they are available online and at Target stores as of July 20 through September 14, 2008. What does that mean? HURRY UP and buy these bags!!
