Michaela comments regularly on a variety of current celebrities at events or about town and how their style chalks up in her typical “call them as she sees them” manner.

Celebrities Reviewed: America Ferrera and Christina Applegate
Christina Applegate

Color: The colours of her dress underlines her pale skin and hair.
Bodyshape: The shape of her dress is top knotch for her rectangle bodyshape. She does here right what Brooke Shields did wrong. Her dress gathers under her bust and gives some roundness to her straight waist, so it creates the illusion of a waist without body hugging around it. Considering she has been undergoing a double mastectomy in her battle against breast cancer she couldn’t have had a more beautiful bustline, that works for this one shoulder dress with out overpowering this feature.
Style: Her train has been attached as well at a very flattering point of her body, so it is not interfering or creating bulk around her waistline. The bow in her train balances well with the one shoulder details and gives the whole look balance. Her
choice in jewelry and make-up is impeccable.
The only critique I have here (and this is on a personal note) is her hair style. it works nicely with the dress, but she should have chosen a softer and more open hairstyle with this look.
Overall Rating: 5***** Five Stars

America Ferrera

Color: The colour black is definitely one of her best colours and I like that she chose a dress with edge in shape and form.
Body Shape: The shape plays up to her best features. it shows off her bust and long waist. The stiff skirt plays nicely around her curves and gives her a nice silhouette.
Style: But she doesn’t wear it right! It is all too matchy and playing in the direction of “all American Sweatheart going to her high school prom”. This dress needs to be paired with some fun and current fashion accessories in shoes, bag and/or jewelry. Her shoes, bag and jewelry are not only boring, but drain the dress and taking the fashion out of the outfit. Her ensemble has turned it into something awkward as if her dress skirt was cut too short by mistake.
America should have chosen some hot pink or red patent or even animal print (zebra or leopard print) pumps. It would have highlighted her skirt and hem line and created into a feature by making it hip and current. Her hair style and make up is far too old for her age.
She is young and plays a role in series that is all about fashion, so if she tries to be the opposite to “Ugly Betty” and be all “Beautiful”, she should keep consistent with her lovely character by keeping the fun in her outfits.
Overall Rating: 3*** (colour & shape are great, but her style let’s her down here!) Three Stars
