WhenTara Met Blog Hits the Governor's Conference for Women for Glam.com

Tara of WhenTaraMetBlog.com and I twittered and videoed our way across the conference –meeting up at the high points (lunch and dinner– really!).

This jam-packed day — 14 thousand women strong (plus vendors and celebrities)– was full of sessions, seminars, and book-signings. As Maria Shriver said in her speech at the Night in the Village, it’s all about empowering women and showing them they have the strength, ability and tools to get any job done– at home, in the office or in the political arena. The theme of “Be Who You Are” was echoing in every contact made via speech, interview or visit to a vendor booth.

Tara’s blog is a cool spin of life as she sees — and tweets– it and she has the photos and even videos to back it up. While I was out galavanting around interviewing people, Tara was smart enough to hit the sessions and hear some of the celebrity speakers give their opinions.
Her blog post is full of some key ones that I missed. Think of this as the spin around the floor as the participant and you get to see it through her eyes (and they are pretty darn sharp).
Here’s a few soundbytes of what Tara saw:

–Warren Buffet and Gov Arnold are discussing the stock market in front of 14,000 female attendees, topic is Leadership in a 21st Century Economy

–Warren Buffet just said Hilary Clinton did a lot for women, since you have to see it to believe it and in 1920 you didn’t, or when I was born even

Tara even got gutsy enough to get a free flu shot at one of the many health screening stations around the “Village”. You could even have bone density tests.

-Gloria Steinem is accepting her Minerva award. She says it’s not about women having it all, but women not having to do it all.

-Tennis legend Billie Jean King takes the stage and is being awarded 4 her mission of equality, inspiring title 9 and female athetes. More tears.
