I recently saw WANTED on DVD and was glad I did. Not because it was a superbly done film but that I didn’t have to pay to see it in the theater. Here’s the weird part, I am sorry I didn’t see it on the big screen because the special effects would have been perfection (read Matrix like) on the big screen and I think would have added to the plot/movie experience.
While it’s no longer in theaters, it’s now on DVD and particularly on video on demand (VOD) right now!
Wanted, the film starring James McAvoy, Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman, that tells an explosive story of an ordinary man transformed by destiny into a powerful assassin, premieres on Video on Demand (VOD) January 15th!
WANTED (in brief)
Wesley’s (James McAvoy) life is over – his pathetic, old one, anyway. He’s a wimpy guy who is at the mercy of all those around him.
However that life changes– all because of a girl. Enter scorching Fox (Angelina Jolie), who crashes into his life and introduces him to the Fraternity, a secret society of assassins, lead by the mysterious Sloan (Morgan Freeman).
It turns out that Wes’s long-lost father was killed while working for the Fraternity and Wes has been selected to target the rogue member who murdered him. However before he can complete his assignment, Wes must first uncover the dark secrets behind the Fraternity in order to determine his own destiny.
Does this sound fun? I love thriller/action flicks and this one definitely has a lot of special effects and action. (plot’s a bit thin at the end. ) It’s worth watching with a bunch of friends and microwave popcorn.
I love VOD because I can choose from hundreds of movies including new releases and your favorite classics and watch them immediately at home or at a friend’s or on a computer or even hooked up via computer to run into the big screen tv! The cool thing about VOD is that you can pause, rewind, and fast-forward because it works like a DVD player without needing to have DVD player equipment. No worries about hook-ups to your tv because the cable provider or satellite provider does it all.
