Celebrities Reviewed: Cyndi Lauper and Paula Abdul

COLOR:
The rich deep yellow colour is not so bad looking on her. It would have been much better choice wearing her hair down, so it would have created a nice balanced her look.
BODYSHAPE:
The style of the dress is all over the place. The shape is not totally wrong ; it just has too much going on. The halter neck would have had a chance to work if it had come without the metallic embellishment around her neck and décolleté line. It is too fussy around the neck, so it makes it crowded.
Her head is too big in proportion to her petite height. The loose fitted pleats in her top aren’t wrong, but it seems cramped between her metallic décolleté and waist line. The metallic belt sits actually well in her waistline but still spoils the dress and her look since it overpowering her petite height. It really clashes with the dress and hair style.
STYLE:
The dropped waistline created by the belt is very wrong for height. It should be only reserved for tall people since they can cope being visually shorter. Her shapeless skirt line isn’t bad but with this ruffled skirt line (plus train) isn’t suitable for her height and so wrong with all the rest of the outfit.
The true shock but must be the hair. It’s such a very bad choice for someone who has a bigger head in comparison to her body. It seems big hair is very popular with many celebrities, but I like to remind them with this trend (as it is with all trends), they need to work on one’s personal shape. This hairstyle doesn’t do her any favours: it reminds me a bit of “Marge Simpson”.

COLOR:
The colour black is the least of her problem here. It kind of works for here since she is wearing her whole look edgy, her hair up and a lower neckline.
BODYSHAPE:
The outfit and shape of the dress suit are not bad. The plunging neckline is kept decent with the black blazer; the big shoulders and the soft waistline are providing her with a good silhouette that works for her short waist.
Unfortunately the look is very much spoiled by the details. The jacket doesn’t fit her. Her shoulder pads are not fitted to her shoulders and her sleeves are far too long for her arms. As I mentioned before: style is nothing without a fit! She does have great legs, but having such a mini skirt line at her age with sheer tights doesn’t work for her. Thick black tights and at least above the knee length skirt line would have worked better. It would have been more elegant and sophisticated but also sexier.
STYLE:
It just looks tacky and the out fit very cheap since the outfit doesn’t fit. I can excuse the hair-do! That’s her thing and part of her identity, however combined with the outfit and the look she is aiming for is “the *80ies” turned ugly.

I agree Paula looks a hot mess in this dress but did you see her the same week on Leno? Hot little mini showing off some sexy leg. When she gets it right she’s smokin’. It’s too bad you only chose to show when she gets it wrong. Would love to hear your opinion on that dress.
