Let's Get Green!! Barneys, Elle & Ebay Partner Up to Auction Fashions for Charity!

Did you know that less than 2% of clothing thrown out in the US is honestly worn out?
Most people are often too lazy to donate it to someone/organization who can use it. However one of the “greenest” ways to shop is by buying pre-owned items and breathing new life into more than last seasons fashions but basic clothing as well.

eBay, joined forces with Barneys New York and

Elle to celebrate the spirit of green shopping by auctioning off one-of-a-kind styles created out of recycled denim that Barneys collected last summer.

Eight couture designers were recruited to create unique fashion from recycled denim. Designers included Versace, Stella McCartney, Derek Lam, Alexander Wang, Bottega Veneta, Rodarte, Rogan and Anne Demuelemeester.

These exclusive designs, on window display now at Barney’s New York (photos below), will be auctioned off on eBay starting April 30.

Bidding starts at 99 cents and all proceeds benefit Oceana, the largest international organization focused 100 percent on ocean conservation.
