Women's Conference 09: Anthony Shriver's "Best Buddy" Organization Assists Those in Need!

Not everything and eveyrone at the Women’s Conference is necessarily about women. It’s often about making a difference whether in your own life or in the life of someone else. So it wasn’t hard for me to stop and talk to Rachel Lane about Best Buddies International. Started by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Maria Shriver’s brother and son of Eunice Kennedy Shriver twenty years ago.

I was able to score some time with Rachel to talk about what Best Buddies is and what it does here in California. This organization helps developmentally disabled people be able to learn skills and function within a job setting so that they are active citizens in their community and in the working world.
