It's a Suite Life: Michael O'Connor Brings Sparkling Gems for Oscar's Style Lab!
It’s never a dull moment for Oscar week and I always try to start it at the Style Lab because things don’t last long there. While I got to the suite early, at least half a dozen pieces left before I did– and some were absolutely killer pieces I wanted to feature. However meeting some of the nominees from Star Trek (makeup) and Avatar (sound) made it definitely worth while. They all looked stunned at the experience but they seemed to relax after a bit and enjoy it and walked away borrowing some incredible jewelry for both men and women!
By the time, I got a chance to speak to Michael O’Connor, he had done a tv interview as well as help all these people out and more were coming in the door as I was wrapping up!
Here are a few of my favorites (more on the jump page)
Five cocktail rings from J.W. Currens. These are incredibly yummy!
This amazing necklace is from Omi Gems for The AGTA Spectrum Collection; this incredible brooch is by Paula Crevoshay for The AGTA Spectrum Collection
Here’s a video of what was still on the table to borrow before I left.
A trio of earrings by designer Michael M.
These gumball sized pearl earrings are from the remarkable J.W. Currens
A fabulous bracelet of two different colored diamonds by Mark Lash
This lovely bracelet with star drops are a light-hearted fillip of jewelry from J.W. Currens
Incredible Chad Allison’s designs really were quite varied this time– particularly with this cluster of earrings
Cocktail rings were all the rage this year and Mark Lash presented these four rings for those frequenting the suite. Love the black and white one in the back and the pink flower one too.
From The AGTA Spectrum Collection including pieces by Omi Gems, Samuel Getz, Evelyn Clothier, and Ariane Zurcher
Diamond tasseled necklace from Evelyn Clothier for The AGTA Spectrum Collection
An amazing array of jewelry — and that’s just a taste of the jewelry shown there. It’s really breath-taking.. and makes you want to head to the nearest jewelry store too (or wish you were able to attend an Oscar party or red carpet event!)
Thank you to Michael O’Connor for all his time and Niki Ostin from The Style Lab!
