The question is NOT whether Kaite Heigl can act– she can. We have seen her perform lame dialogue with panache and make it meaningful on Greys Anatomy. The question is can Ashton Kutcher act–beyond Punked and the camera commercials. (not mentioning brand names because I don’t want to have to give equal time to brands I wouldn’t touch. However he promotes a brand of camera I don’t use, but that’s another Oprah)
As someone mentioned on the last post on Killers that hit Facebook– can this guy act? I don’t know. I have never seen him in a movie that I can remember. Checking IMBD, the only movie I recognized that he was in was Butterfly Effect— but I never saw it. The one movie that I did see was the Wedding Crashers but he wasn’t in it, he was one of the producers.
Ashton– you should step up to the plate.
New Killers trailer– So you know he can handle a knife.
Here’s some dope on this new film. Ashton didn’t use a trainer to get in shape– he bought a dvd fitness workout via TV.. and did it. According to Kutcher (via Digital Spy )
Kutcher told Collider: “I bought one of those exercise DVDs off the TV. I put it in and watched it, and got in shape. I did some fight training. I learned Krav Maga, Muay Thai and Kali, which is Filipino knife fighting
As a person who knows people who are heavy-weights in Kenpo, Silat and a few other variations, Kutcher knows just enough to scratch the surface and really hurt someone but he’s not accomplished enough to be able to use it to truly defend himself and know the difference. Krav Maga is the Israeli self-defense and they are very protective of how it gets taught as are the Kenpo and Silat crowd. Muy Thai.. well that’s another ball game.
Kutcher is lucky he didn’t kill someone. Next time, either go the distance and take the classes you need to learn the art with respect or leave it to the stunt guy. I just hate it when people present martial arts on videos without proper training, technique and respect and explanation of the technique they are learning.
Synopsis:
Trying to recover from a sudden break-up, Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl) believes she’ll never fall in love again. But when she reluctantly joins her parents on a trip to the French Riviera, Jen happens to meet the man of her dreams, the dashing, handsome Spencer Aimes (Ashton Kutcher). Three years later, her seemingly impossible wish has come true: she and Spencer are newlyweds living the ideal suburban life – that is, until the morning after Spencer’s 30th birthday when bullets start flying. Literally.
Dinner for two.
It turns out Spencer never bothered to tell Jen he’s also an international super-spy, and now Jen’s perfect world has been turned upside down. Faced with the fact that her husband is a hit man, Jen is determined to discover what other secrets Spencer might be keeping – all the while trying to dodge bullets, keep up neighborly appearances, manage the in-laws…and work out some major trust issues.

And you thought suburban life was easy–( well they might have it easier than me. At least they can kill people and walk away from it without getting caught. I can’t say the same for myself — not that I have killed anyone but certainly thought about the guy who tried to walk into the women’s restroom in Maui knowing there was one woman in there (me) and the significant other was ready to take him down) That said, it might be a fun– funny movie. Not sure I would buy popcorn for it though– but for me that’s the ultimate cop-out.. have to have the popcorn when the movie is bad.
