`It took one of my best friends (uh a tech guy if that’s any help there) to turn me onto this show and to get me to turn ON the show. Actually I just went to Netflix and started loading seasons 1-3 into the queue and so far, as of the writing of this post, I have completed almost all of season 1– or by now I should have completed it. I had never heard of Chuck– wait, check that. I had heard of Chuck but knew nothing about it and since it was regular broadcast TV and not a thriller sort of TV show, I wasn’t going to watch it. Enter tech guy stage left who told me the synopsis of season 1 in about 10 minutes and I was hooked– had to put it in queue. I was still skeptical but I like spy TV (hence the White Collar, Burn Notice and Covert Affairs coverage on this blog– along with having seen every single 007 movie at least 3 times each. Yes, REALLY!)
Here’s the lead-in video. (Yes that is Matt Bomer from White Collar. He seems to be doing occasional appearances in this show)
Here’s the synopsis
This is a one-hour, comedic spy thriller about Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi, “Less Than Perfect”) – a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government’s most vital secret agent. When Chuck opens an e-mail subliminally encoded with government secrets, he unwittingly downloads an entire server of sensitive data into his brain.
Now, the fate of the world lies in the unlikely hands of a guy who works at Buy More. Instead of fighting computer viruses, he must fight assassins and international terrorists. With the government’s most precious secrets in Chuck’s head, Major John Casey (Adam Baldwin, “My Bodyguard”) of the NSA assumes the responsibility of protecting him. His partner is the CIA’s top agent (and Chuck’s first date in years) Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski, “Gone”). They’ll keep him safe by trading in his pocket protector for a bulletproof vest.

Comic-con gag interview.
This is a smart, funny series and I am soooooooooo addicted to it. You should at least give it a shot — watch 6 episodes (that’s disk 1 and 2) and I defy you to not find it interesting and/or funny. It’s sophomoric humor is at its’ most incisive in terms of modern life and skewers us while we watch it.
Gotta love it!
