It’s not always the stylist that can give you great hair. Sometimes it might be that second pair of hands that is all you need– but that means bugging someone else to help you. Maybe it’s not so much the hands but the products and tools you use on your hair. As I begin this series on hair products, treatments and tools, you should be checking out what might work for your hair.
You know I am a fan of the Beverly Hills Color Bar. I have been there at least 3 times (and I paid for some of the treatments too.) I was impressed with the tools that Stevey used on me — most specifically the hair dryer. I had purchased a T3 Tourmaline from Sephora and have to say I was less than impressed with the results. Was it worth the $200 I spent on it? Nope– I found it light-weight but it didn’t give me the results that I expected– with the diffuser ($40 more) or without. So I was hunting down a new dryer fast. When Stevey first used the Bio-Ionic Powerlight dryer on me, I picked it up as she retrieved something else and I was impressed at the light weight but also how fast she was blowing out my hair. I have very fine hair, but I have a lot of it (despite what you see on the photos– I really do have a lot of hair).
I was so impressed with the dryer, that I contacted Bio-Ionic to get some additional information, photos and prices on the products. As we exchanged emails, they liked what I had to say about my take on their dryers that they sent me a Powerlight Pro-Dryer along with a couple of other products (a big round brush and a paddle brush from the Classic Series ) to test drive.
Here’s the details on the Powerlight Pro-Dryer:the lightest, most powerful dryer ever!
◦The fastest dryer ever
◦Powerful airflow (1875W) for faster drying without damage
◦Ultra-lightweight for easy all-day use
◦Longer-lasting A.C. Motor
◦Conditioning Nano Beads accelerate drying and promote shiny, soft, hydrated hair.
◦NanoIonic™ Mineral hydrates and conditions hair
◦Negative Ions clense & deodorize hair
◦Far Infrared Heat accelerates dryign time
◦Eliminates frizzies and static
The Silver Classic Ion Series Brushes : I had received the largest round and paddle brushes from that collection:
◦Incredibly lightweight for all-day styling.
◦Minimize hair breakage and split-ends.
◦Visibly add noticeable luster.
◦Make hair significantly more manageable.
◦Help removes styling build-up.
◦Ion-emitting bristles smooth the hair, eliminating frizz and fly-aways.
◦Eliminate static electricity.
◦Ergonomic handles make them easy to use.

I have had a few months to play with these tools. I don’t wash my hair every day because it looks pretty decent but I do need to blow dry the front almost every day because my hair is very sensitive to humidity and it’s naturally curly.
Here’s why I LOVE this hair dryer and these brushes. When the box with the hair dryer arrived, I ripped it open like a 3 year old at Christmas time. I had a bend in my bangs that would NOT go away with the T3. It wasn’t straightening out unless I used a flat iron and I was adamant about not using a flat iron. I didn’t want to do any more damage to the 3 times of smoothing treatments that I had. I needed to grow out the ends; grow out the treatments and get back to the real hair.
So I do something dumb. I see the world’s largest round brush– a size I had NEVER used before. I unwrap it, plug in the dryer and without a mirror– and in front of my partner who is clueless when it comes to how to blow dry hair– I use the dryer and brush to blow out my bangs straight without the wavey bends. It was like doing it blind– and guess what– it worked perfectly. I did two passes and then ran to the mirror and was shocked at how smooth and straight my swoop of bangs were.
It was all I could do to wait to get into the shower the next day to get to use these tools with my products and my hair looked great. Fast-drying and smoother than it had been with any other dryer I had used before. Wow. WOW!
While there are other brands of hair tools out there, (I can’t speak for all of them because I haven’t tried all of them) I am highly impressed with this dryer and these brushes. Also if you check out the website, you will notice there are two other upper-end lines of brushes that I have not tried. You can find them mentioned in the Bio-Ionic blog particularly on this post which is a breakdown of how to get “red carpet ready” in a hurry with only 3 tools.
Thank you to Bio Ionic for the tools that I was able to test. I give honest opinions, on products– whether I am given them or pay for them.
