By day #4 of the Cleanse process I have it down. What’s really irritating is that during the time I was doing the Cleanse, it was cold in LA.. as in I need a warm something in my hand. I have been doing the herbal tea and it’s not enough. I really want soup and thankfully something close to that is on tonight’s menu.. but I am saving it for dinner because it’s getting REALLY cold! I wish there was a way to create a warm blend of the Purify with oatmeal so that you feel like you had WARM food to eat during the day. I didn’t even go with chicken broth and sending me into a market right now to get vegetable broth would send me into *never never land*. So it was just grit my teeth a bit.
Someone asked me about the Purify Shakes and the taste. The directions state put 2 scoops into the blender bottle, add enough ice and water to fill and shake. I used part unsweetened grapefruit juice and also tart cherry juice. Not a lot — the rest was water but it cut the taste of the shake since I had French Vanilla. If you shake it up really well and it’s really cold (I tried blending it with 1/2 a “Cutie” seedless tangerine and that gave it a bit more substance), you should drink it quickly. Don’t let it sit– because the texture is a bit chalky but if it’s cold, it’s more shake-like. I am the first person to walk away from something I can’t swallow. (been there, so done that) However these shakes are better than most and when you add in the couple of spoonfuls of chocolate powder they provide (and I added in one of cinnamon) it was tasty!
Here’s the menu for Day 4
Breakfast :
Paleta Purify Shake , Dried Fruits and Nuts
Snack:
Paleta Purify Shake
Lunch:
Baby Carrots and Artichoke Hummus (would have been smart of me to nuke the carrots a bit and also the hummus. This was AWESOME!!)
Snack:
Paletta Shake
Dinner:
Vegetarian Three Bean Chili (slightly spicy, not thick and sans tomatoes which makes sense. It’s really good and it was a generous portion!!)
Snack:
Paleta Purify Shake
Friday is Day #5 and the LAST Day.
I have already started planning out how to come off this Cleanse and it’s not to dive into tons of food. While I might have a shake, I am going to stick with veggies and not hit the dairy or stuff that might irritate my system. I will add in a single piece of citrus, some light protein in a salad and take it slowly back into regular food land– meaning herb tea, lots of water and lots of veggie snacks.
