Are you into tea? I am! I drink it every day– about a quart in the AM. I like various teas. Some are organic herbal, others are black or green teas. Some are flavored with botanicals; others are just what they say they are. But for the most part, if brewed properly, tea is extremely healthy for you because it has lots of anti-oxidants. Different teas have different amounts of anti-oxidants and healthful ingredients. Tea is often seen as very sweet drink– and it can be. Personally I take mine straight up, no sugar, black, green, just let me brew it and drink it.
I had the opportunity to test drive some of the very fine teas and utensils provided at The Tea Spot— an online tea purveyor. Yes– that means store but it’s so much more than that because the variety of teas you can get there are not available at your local coffee house. These are really unusual teas and very cool cups, mugs, brewers, teapots and more. People who are really into tea (and I don’t mean tea bags particularly)..
What you put your tea into when brewing it makes a HUGE difference in how it tastes and how it turns out. Here’s a few items I would recommend.
The Steeping Cup is a 3-piece tea for one person set. Featuring a tea cup with infuser and lid – entirely handcrafted in porcelain–it allows you to make loose tea as easy as tea bags. This is not something I have but I think this would be a great gift for anyone– even for yourself and do buy it because you will be happy that you can buy any tea and know that it will brew properly

My favorite teas– and some new ones that are favorites now. I had not seen such an array of teas as I have at The Tea Spot. To find Pu’reh tea bricks is highly unusual as they are quite rich in anti-oxidants and are known to help your body metabolism. Pu’reh tea is a deep, rich, organic tea is packed into each aged mini pu’erh tea brick. I have a Pu’reh tea brick– it is not organic but this is what I would recommend to you. I have a brick someone else gave to me and this particular tea lasts a LONG time if you keep it carefully wrapped.
One of the teas I really liked was the Green Jasmine Petals. These are rolled up in a tiny ball and need to steep to unfurl the leaves and give you an amazing taste experience.
Another great tea from Tea Spot is the Loose White Tea with rosebuds and jasmine pearls. Subtle and perfect for a ladies lunch or a wedding but also just as well-suited when you need a bit of meditation or time to reward oneself. This is a glorious tea. I tend to drink this in the afternoon or around lunch– depending on how my day is going. If it’s not going well, this is the tea to drink. If I am tired, the Pu’reh tea will help. If I am seeking balance, the Jasmine petals will be just perfect. I also have a great many black teas collected over time and kept in tins. I believe in herbals too which they have a great selection as well.
