Winter dryness, it’s a yearly battle to maintain moisturized healthy skin during the winter months. Between the drying effect of heating systems and the change in the atmosphere as the temperatures drop you may find that you have chapped lips, dry flaky cheeks and itchy skin all over. Don’t go into a panic, I have a list of products that will help you fight winter dryness without spending a fortune or spending hours agonizing over your skin care routine!
Other than moisturizer with sunscreen I don’t typically put a lot on my face unless I’m going somewhere that calls for “putting on my face” and still winter dryness hits me as soon as the temperature starts to drop. Over the years I’ve tried lots of different products, home remedies and changes in my diet and habits to combat this dryness; T his year my new favorite products are by Nature’s Gate. They provide natural products created using herbs and fruit extracts to soften and soothe dry skin, retain moisture and restore health to winter dry skin. From my face to my hands and all over my body Nature’s Gate moisturizers, cleansers and lotions help keep me soft, smooth and not itchy! Affordable, natural quality skin care is hard to find, if you’re in the market for something different be sure to check their products out.
Showering during wintertime should not involve super-hot water. Cool it down a bit and use a Nature’s Gate Herbal Cleansing Bar instead of harsh soap or chemical body washes to get your body clean and soft. After your shower dry off an immediately apply one of the wonderful rich lotions available from Nature’s Gate.
For your facial skin care I’ve fallen in love with the Rice Bran Cleansing Milk. It lifts away makeup and dirt from the day without leaving my skin feeling red and irritated. I follow up washing my face with the Rice Bran Moisturizer and I love how it absorbs and leaves my skin feeling soft and supple yet not greasy or caked with goo!
My nighttime routine usually involves nothing more than washing my face and reapplying my daily moisturizer but when I tried the Nature’s Gate Avocado Night Cream I decided that for winter dryness I should use it instead. Talk about nourishing! This cream smells lovely, goes on thickly and absorbs quickly. A little goes a long, long way!
