Jack From Brooklyn Brings the Spice into Holiday Eggnog with Sorel!

I had a chance to talk about Sorel last year. I was blown away. Sorel is from Brooklyn and it’s a unique spirit that will spice up any drink or dessert topping like nothing else you have seen.

Sorel Supreme Eggnog with Sorel Whipped Cream

Sorel Whipped Cream by Briana Emerson
1 cup heavy whipping cream
2 tablespoon sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons Sorel
Whip until soft peeks form

Sorel Supreme Egg Nog by Hope Clarke
8 eggs- seperated into yolks and whites
3 cups heavy cream
2 cups bourbon- Wild Turkey 101
3 teaspoons mandarin orange zest
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup Sorel liqueur
1 pinch ground nutmeg/cinnamon to garnish

Whip egg whites with a half cup of the sugar until stiff, glossy, firm peaks form.

Beat egg yolks with a quarter cup of sugar, until it doubles in volume.

Whip one cup of cream with a half cup of sugar until thick and firm.

Slowly heat remaining cream with remaining sugar, bourbon, vanilla, salt and orange zest until steaming, but not boiling.

Remove from heat and beat slowly into yolk mixture, gently ‘cooking’ the egg yolk.

Add white mixture and mix until smooth.

Fold in Sorel and Sorel whipped cream. Top with a dallop of Sorel whipped cream and garnish with pinch of ground nutmeg and cinnamon.

Thanks to Jack From Brooklyn, Briana Emerson, and Hope Clarke

In case you can’t get into making egg nog, buy the kind in the glass bottle. It’s more expensive- but it’s worth every penny and then make the whipped cream.

  1. Amazing recipe.. I would do it but it would take me forever to concoct it and by the time I was done, I would have drank more Sorel independently of the eggnog than would be prudent.
