Calling all foodies! Want some fast, easy and rockin’ tasty things to feature for Father’s Day — or any day when you want to eat FAST? LifeMinute.tv caught up with celebrity chefs at the Food Bank for New York City’s 30th anniversary Can Do Awards, and asked them to share their favorite summer recipes.
Check out these six suggested recipes from these amazing celeb chefs.
1. Grilled Pizza
Celebrity chef Mario Batali’s go-to quick pizza recipe:
“Get a pizza dough from your local pizzeria. Knead it out flat, then toss it on your hot grill. Turn it over after about two minutes, then brush it with tomato sauce, and layer fresh mozzarella and basil from your garden.” Presto!
2. Lemon & Garlic Grilled Veggies
Talk show host Rachael Ray says the grill can make anyone an awesome chef.
“Grilled anything doesn’t taste too bad with lots of citrus and garlic and lots of veggies! I mean, it’s an easy season for everybody to look like a rock star when it comes to cooking.”
3. Crab Toast
Iron Chef, Geoffrey Zakarian suggests cooking what’s in season for the freshest results.
“We’re coming into crab season. Soft shell crabs just came out, as well as white asparagus. Crab toast!”
4. Grilled Peaches
The Chew cohost Carla Hall says all it takes is a piece of fresh summer fruit to crank out an impressive dish.
“Grill some peaches with a little mop of rosemary, then drizzle honey on top. Boom Shakalaka!”
5. Shrimp Stuffed Avocado
Food Network TV host Sandra Lee loves this quick summer recipe: “Halve an avocado, then fill it with bay shrimp topped with champagne vinaigrette.” How easy is that?
6. Pecorino Salad
Host of the Food Network’s Secrets of a Restaurant Chef Anne Burrell recommends a simple salad.
“All you need is a little asparagus, red onion, and some pecorino—all raw and chopped. You can quickly put it together with a red wine vinegar and olive oil dressing.”

Lemon and Garlic Grilled Veggies are an old favourite of mine! Yum!
I have grilled a pizza before and think it is a great way to keep the heat out of the house. We try grilling everything. Great post.
maybe I can get you to convince someone else that grilling is a GREAT way to cook. I want to do grilled peaches.
Stevie
Alright, Ms. Ray, I’m totally trying the lemon and garlic veggies!
I used the garlic and also some fresh pepper. if you can find fresh bell peppers in various colors or those not spicy colored peppers that are small.. chop those up in a rough chop or via food processor and add those to the mix. VERY colorful.
