Reknown jewelry company Van Cleef & Arpel’s international exhibit “A Quest for Beauty: The Art of Van Cleef & Arpels” launched this past weekend in Santa Ana, CA at the Bowers Museum . The kick-off was highlighted by a cocktail gala and preview on Saturday, October 26th with key items on display to the general public from October 27, 2013 – February 15, 2014.
Spanning over 100 years of history, the exhibition will allow visitors on the west coast the opportunity to view over 200 items from the private collection of Van Cleef & Arpels including jewelry, watches, and precious accessories, as well as archive drawings and documents of the Place Vendôme High Jewelry Maison.
Key pieces will include never before seen items and iconic pieces worn by Princess Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor, Barbara Hutton and Empress Farah Pahlavi, along with items worn to key awards season events by celebrities including Eva Mendes and Jennifer Garner.
Visitors will have the opportunity to discover Van Cleef & Arpel’s attention to craftsmanship passed on through the generations; the legendary women who wore these items; and the stories attached to some of these pieces that have achieved mythical status. The exhibit also features the dedication of the Bowers Museum’s to revealing to the public treasures from hidden cultures, showcases the best in human creating and creativity as well as and finding meaning in beauty.
One of the unique angles of the exhibit is that Orange County and the Bowers’ Museum was specifically selected as the home for the exclusive west coast presentation, furthering the growing conception of Orange County as a growing cultural destination. Van Cleef & Arpels is also currently expanding and re-launching their boutique at South Coast Plaza, furthering Van Cleef & Arpel’s dedication to the area.
This exhibit is well worth the time the drive to the OC for this. Not only is it a great museum, but the area is adorable and there are many places to grab some food and a cocktail and make a day of it (or at least a chunk of a day)

isn’t it absolutely astonishingly gorge? I love it!! I have written about this line for almost 10 years……. and it’s soooo beautiful. It’s exceptional because it’s a very established line.. and only got a ton of visibility when they loaned to some key celebs.
