While you might not know Long Beach like I know Long Beach (I was born here. My mom lived here for many years and so did other members of my extended family). This once sleepy town by the sea is now a hot-spot for cutting edge gastro-pubs, restos and lounge along with brew-houses like Beachwood BBQ. It is home to So. California’s Aquarium of the Pacific, Queen Mary, Long Beach Grand Prix and numerous other events. However nothing gets the attention of the locals like the New Years Eve Street Party. This year, Downtown Long Beach will be hosting another great “street party” for New Years Eve with one of the hottest line-ups ever for this event with the headlining band, Fitz and the Tantrums! I have been following Fitz and the Tantrums for several years ever since music producer, composer and musician Chris Seefried told me about them. They are amazing! They top off a fabulous line-up for this street party unlike any other in the state of California!
Brimming with imagination, energy, and genre-smashing scope, Fitz And The Tantrums defied the odds to become an indisputable phenomenon, a chart-topping, show-stopping modern pop combo unlike any other – and now they’re coming to Downtown Long Beach. Fitz And The Tantrums are slated to headline one of the West Coast’s largest New Year’s Eve street celebrations by closing three blocks of Pine Avenue between First and Fourth Streets for three live music stages, 12 bars, and more.
Fools Gold, the latest hit single from Fitz and the Tantrums!

Fitz And The Tantrums, a Los Angeles based sextet that formed in 2008, has been wowing crowds with their outrageously entertaining live sets with the charged back-and-forth between co-lead vocalists Fitz and Noelle Scaggs. They released their first album, Pickin’ Up The Pieces in August 2010 to unanimous critical acclaim. Irresistible singles like “MoneyGrabber” and “Don’t Gotta Work It Out” began drawing national radio airplay and Pickin’ Up The Pieces ultimately ascended to #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart, earning sales numbers to match.
While their first record was conceived as an homage to 60’s pop soul music, More Than Just A Dream, released in 2012, saw Fitz And The Tantrums propelling their sound towards their own distinctive, utterly contemporary vision. From the studio to the stage, Fitz And The Tantrums give everything they have to anything they do, leaving it all on the floor night in and night out. With its artistic audaciousness and pure pop punch, More Than Just A Dream fully confirms Fitz And The Tantrums are here to stay.
Don’t miss this very special street party. It’s a blast!
Happy New Year!
