February is “Heart Health” month and while every adult should be checked for heart health, women in particular need to focus on this issue. Burlington stores and WomenHeart have partnered together in support of this initiative. The Heart of Fitness tour hits LA in Arcadia on 2/26!


WomenHeart and Burlington Take Charge in the Fight against Heart Disease by Offering Free Fitness Events and Raising Funds to Support the Cause


What: Learn why this is so important!

Nearly 43 million women are currently living with heart disease– the leading cause of death of American women. However, women can easily take charge of their health and reduce the risk of heart disease by 30-50% by engaging in physical activity.[1] That’s why WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease and Burlington Stores, a national off price retailer, are dedicating the fourth year of their partnership to driving home the importance of exercise and physical activity in the fight against heart disease by launching the Heart of Fitness Tour, which will be arriving in Los Angeles this February.

On Thursday, February 26th, Los Angeles residents are invited to participate in the Heart of Fitness Tour event, which consists of a

complimentary fitness class led by certified instructors, including a light stretch and brisk walk around the store.

free heart health screenings (consisting of blood pressure measurement, waist circumference and a risk factor questionnaire) from heart health professionals.

Bilingual educational materials will also be distributed by WomenHeart Champions, heart disease survivors who are volunteer community educators and advocates for women’s heart health.

Throughout February and March:
In addition, From February 1 through March 31, customers are invited to help raise funds to increase awareness about the importance of women’s heart health, and to support women living with this chronic and life-threatening disease.
Customers can donate a $1 or more at check-out at all 542 Burlington locations nationwide to benefit WomenHeart.
For every dress purchased during this time period at all Burlington locations, Burlington will donate $1 [up to $25,000] to benefit WomenHeart and fund life-saving heart health education.

Heart health for women is an initiative I support. Too many women I know — including those in my own family– had had significant heart issues. The risk factors are the same but the signs of heart disease and heart attacks for women are very different than those of men.
