White House Correspondent’s Assoc. Dinner: Did You Watch SNL’s Cecily Strong? #MTP #savvy

I watched the White House Correspondent’s Association Dinner event last night live on TV when the speeches — or roasting– was on. I wasn’t so much interested in the fashion (I know, I know: “shock and awe”) as I was on who was there (not celebrities) and the commentary. When I saw a woman on stage I did not ‘know’ who the person was delivering the key commentary after Obama. It was Saturday Night Live’s Cecily Strong “doing her thang” on stage, I was surprised.
I always have found that the humor was biting and insightful. The targets often cringing yet laughing too.
Cecily Strong was really quite on target with the Obama & Clinton humor. I thought it was more than amusing.

Here’s what Dale Armbruster summarized online HERE :

The headliner of the White House Correspondents Dinner praised President Obama, saying she now understood what past performers felt following the leader of the free world.

Saturday Night Live star Cecily Strong joked about the President’s performance following Saturday night’s event, saying, “I was kind of like, oh, that was really good, wasn’t it? They’re really liking him.”

“I think he always does very well,” she said. “Especially in that world, when he’s making a speech and being funny, that’s what he does really, really well.”

Last night, NBC’s Chuck Todd caught up with Cecily Strong right after she delivered remarks at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

I was contacted by NBCUniversal with the content for this piece. I am always happy to share things like this: “of the moment” clips as well as behind the scenes content. There was no compensation for this post.

(Sorry Cecily Strong that I didn’t know who you were till now! You are funny but right on target! You need to be in movies and do some additional guest bits on various shows since I don’t watch a lot of TV).
