12 Drinks of Christmas: Day 13: Teeling Irish Whiskey Makes Great Cocktails! #Recipes!
It’s now January 2, 2016 and it’s also a Saturday. While most of us are lost in the holiday blitz of the weekend, it’s time for me to set you up with a new cocktail for the last couple days of Holidays 2015! Particularly since it’s now 2016, I wanted to share a special couple of cocktails with my new favorite liquor- Teeling Irish Whiskey.
There are several different presentations of Teeling Irish Whiskey:
The Flagship Irish whiskey and our attempt to create the most interesting Blended Irish whiskey. This small batch bottling consists of hand selected casks which are given further maturation in ex-rum barrels imparting extra character and smooth flavour unique to Irish whiskey. By bottling at 46% with no chill filtration completes an Irish whiskey of true character.
Single Grain – Recently Awarded World’s Best Grain at the World Whiskies Awards, 2014. This award-winning addition is one of only a handful of Single Grain Bottlings in the world.
It is fully matured in Californian red wine barrels resulting in an intensely fruity and beautifully amber liquid, with lush berry notes.
Hand selected casks, bottled at 46% with no chill filtration to ensure all the unique flavour is captured.
Third release in the Premium range of Teeling expressions completing our full range of non aged Irish whiskeys. Made from 100% Malted Barley from a range of different ages including Malt whiskey distilled in 1991. Aim to produce the most flavoursome NA Irish Single Malt based on our innovative maturation/finishing techniques while retaining the distinctive Irish smoothness. Consists of a vatting of 5 different wine cask (Sherry, Port, Madeira, White Burgundy, Cabernet Sauvignon) finished Irish Malt whiskeys. Like all the Teeling whiskeys it is bottled at 46% with no chill filtration allowing for all the natural flavours of the whiskey to be retained
The Revival is a limited edition 15 Year Old Single Malt specially selected to celebrate the opening of the Teeling Whiskey Distillery, the first of its kind to open its doors in over 125 years, and the revival of the tradition of distilling in Dublin. The Revival consists of 15 Year Old Single Malt, exclusively matured in ex-rum barrels and bottles at 46% with no chill filtration creating a truly unique Irish whiskey taste experience.
21 YEAR OLD SINGLE MALT
This Silver Reserve bottling consists of 21 Year Old Irish Single Malt whiskey matured firstly in Bourbon casks then allowed to marry in Sauternes wine casks for an extra twelve months to provide a full flavoured Irish whiskey taste experience. Consisting of only hand selected casks chosen for their distinctive taste qualities this small batch bottling is limited to just 5,000 bottles and was honoured as the Best Irish Single Malt in the World.
Each variety of Teelings has a thoughtful and interesting presentation. I was able to try 3 different Teelings (the first 3) and the girl who doesn’t like Irish Whiskey has fallen in love with Irish Whiskey– notably TEELINGS Irish Whiskey. Since I have found this brand, I won’t drink any other brand.
