It’s Getting HOT in Los Angeles + It’s TGIF: Celebrate with an Easy Winesicle!

It’s getting to feel like summer (finally) here in Southern California. The weather which has been pretty off and on (once the rain stopped), has caused many to wish for the hot days that Los Angeles is known for. We are getting it this weekend in the area of 90 degrees – plus or minus a few degrees. When it starts getting hot, the grills start firing up and people start looking for great sips as well as treats that will keep them cool!

What happens when two summer staples – popsicles and wine – come together? Behold… Winesicles! Here’s a great Winesicle recipe featuring world renowned Italian winery, Santa Margherita. This recipe features Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore DOCG

SM-Prosecco-10_20_15-Green

This sparkling wine has fine bubbles winding through its bright straw yellow color and greenish reflections. Its aroma will remind you of peaches and sweet flowers, and its flavor includes fruity hints of pineapples and Rennet apples.

This “winesicle” recipe is fabulous. This is different from other frozen treats that include other spirits.

Popsicle molds: You can buy popsicle molds  at Target and other large stores in that category. If you want a large variety to choose from, try Amazon.com. Any of these 3 mold sets would be a good fit:

Prepworks by Progressive Freezer Pop Maker
And for those expecting a crowd, invest in this product:

As you can see, there is an array of sizes.

I definitely want to try this recipe. It might be really great with a rose’ too.   Please let me know if you make this up and how it turned out!
