Christmas is here and it’s worthy of a GREAT cocktail (or two). Here are two cocktails made from an incredible whisky brand, Russell’s Reserve. Not only is it great for sipping, but it’s pretty amazing when mixed into a cocktail.
And if you are feeling generous you could gift someone a bottle of Russell’s Reserve.
If you are planning a party, consider making up a pitcher drink of the Hot Toddy cocktail!
Hot Buttered Toddy Boulevardier
Created by Kate Bolton, Mint & Mirth, Portland
Ingredients:
1½ oz. Russell’s Reserve 10-Year-Old Bourbon
¾ oz. Campari
¾ oz. Cinzano 1757 Vermouth
1 Tbsp. Maple Butter*
1 dash Vanilla Extract
3 oz. boiling water
Method:
In a footed glass or mug add Russell’s Reserve, Campari, sweet vermouth, maple butter and vanilla.
Pour hot water on top and stir briskly until butter is dissolved and well integrated.
Garnish with a clover-studded half orange wheel and a star anise pod
*Maple Butter:
Ingredients:
½ lb (2 sticks) unsalted butter
5 Tbsp Maple Syrup
½ tsp. salt
Using a robot coup or Vitamix, whip all ingredients until smooth.
(Robot coup is a food processor)
Siberian Select Boulevardier

This cocktail is something very, VERY different. It’s really quite lush and rather expensive because caviar is included in the recipe.
Ingredients
1.5 oz Russell’s Reserve 10 Year Old
1 oz Campari
1 oz Cinzano 1757 Sweet Vermouth
Absinthe
Siberian Select caviar
Orange peel
Mini toast
Method:
Rinse a rocks glass with absinthe and burn.
In a mixing glass, pour Russell’s Reserve, Campari and Cinzano 1757.
Stir until chilled and strain into rocks glass over a large ice cube.
Express the orange peel over the cocktail and discard.
Garnish with a mini toast topped with caviar.
