Want to Add Kombucha to Your Diet? Try KOE! 6 Flavored Organic Kombuchas that Taste GREAT!

I was late to the Kombucha game. Even after I found a couple of popular brands to try, I couldn’t even finish 4 ounces the taste was too harsh for me. After a couple of years, I did find a brand that had a couple of flavors that I did like. I haunted various markets – both mainstream supermarkets and others that were more natural foods-oriented and most of the flavors I liked weren’t carried at most of the stores I visited. I was disappointed that I couldn’t find a regular source for my favorite flavors and gave up!

Not too long ago someone emailed me about this new brand of Kombucha that came in an array of interesting flavors and it had lots of positive attributes to it too. The brand is KÖE

Some of you might not have heard about Kombucha or maybe you have but don’t know what it does or why one should drink it!

1)What Is Kombucha:
Kombucha is a Potential Source of Probiotics
–It’s made by adding specific strains of bacteria, yeast, and sugar to black or green tea, then allowing it to ferment for a week or more (1 Trusted Source).

2)What does Kombucha do:
My answer here comes from Healthline.com and http://drinkkoe.com/faq

–While all kombucha is required to ferment, KÖE is fermented for more than 4 months with Organic Black Tea, Organic Cane Sugar, and Organic Kombucha Culture for the best tasting premium product we can produce.

3)What are the benefits of Kombucha
Kombucha helps to detoxify the harmful bacteria that reside in your gut and then replenishes with beneficial probiotics. The fact that 70% of your immune system support comes from your gut, it makes sense that a healthy gut will lead to a healthier body.

4)What are probiotics:
Probiotics are a naturally occurring beneficial bacteria found in your digestive system.

5) Are probiotics helpful for people?
Probiotics are generally good for you, especially your digestive system. And, as an added benefit, they can be helpful after a round of antibiotics are taken because they work toward readjusting the bacteria in your digestive system.

6)How much/how many probiotics are there in Koe?
Every can of KÖE is fortified with 4 billion CFUs of probiotics at the time of production.

7) Does Koe need to be refrigerated to preserve the probiotics?
Most of the probiotics in a can of KÖE survive at ambient room temperature.
Additionally, our kombucha is fortified at the time of production, which adds to the survival of the probiotics during the pasteurization process.

KÖE is a canned, shelf-stable organic kombucha that is great tasting. The brand is USDA Organic, Non-GMO Project verified, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Kosher certified, and Non-Alcoholic, made without artificial sweeteners.

Flavors include:
–fresh and tangy Lemon Ginger,
–exotic, enticing Mango,
–refreshing Raspberry Lemon,
–plump Blueberry Ginger,
–silky, soothing Raspberry Dragonfruit

This sounded like the Kombucha I had been waiting for! The brand offered to send me samples and I got one can of each flavor.
I was happy to try it and hoping that the beverages were as tasty as they sounded

Disclosure:

I was provided samples of this product for review. Particularly because this is a beverage, I can’t review it without tasting it. In no way does the free samples affect my review — other than to make sure the review is done.

My big issue with beverages is that I need to like the taste. “Flavor” is important to me- regardless of the food or beverage. I know some kombuchas that have a savory taste with an edge that I have experienced with beer or others that are more herbal like some herbal teas.

Here’s my take on each flavor:

Lemon Ginger:
I loved this flavor. It’s definitely my favorite. It’s not overly sweet and the sharp, tangy ginger balances out the lemon!

Mango:

The mango is terrific. It has a very authentic flavor yet it’s light in texture. Where most mango-oriented drinks have a thick mango texture, this one doesn’t!

Raspberry Dragonfruit

This drink is yummy! I have never tried dragonfruit and it’s got a nice balance to the raspberry sweetness.  Love it.
It would be great diluted with club soda and poured over ice.  It’s light enough to  drink anytime, anywhere.

Blueberry Ginger

If you want a low-key flavor, the blueberry-ginger flavor is for you. The blueberry isn’t fake, but it is on the mild side- which is really ok with me.  I like the balanced bite of the ginger and it makes for an interesting flavor profile. I would use this to mix up a cocktail but honestly, you could pour white wine into it for a wine spritzer and it would be a beautiful summer drink.
Personally, I would drink this straight up over ice and add in a slice of lemon or float in some blueberries.

Raspberry Lemon

What’s not to love about Raspberry Lemon? I love this flavor! It’s clean, bright with the right touch of lemon’s sharpness to balance off the raspberry sweetness.  I can see little kids loving this one. It’s delish!

I was shocked to find that I loved the entire line. Even more shocked, that my family liked several flavors too.  I liked it so much that I ordered it direct from Amazon in four-packs and it’s also available in 12 packs. All the flavors are carried online.
I can’t wait till my local stores start carrying this line. It’s absolutely a winner!

You can find it here on Amazon.com

Thanks to KÖE Kombucha for the sample. You have the best kombucha I have ever had!

Want to brew your own Kombucha?

In case you are interested in brewing your own kombucha, I recently saw a post on a blog that tells you how to brew your own kombucha and the various ways you can do it. The “Ultimate Guide to Making Kombucha at Home” article by Amy from OhWeCook.com is extremely detailed. Amy provides you with two different ways of brewing your kombucha as well as providing a list of tools and ingredients that you need to have on hand in order to make your kombucha. The article includes the step-by-step process for both the batch method and the continuous brewing method of making kombucha. This article is the most complete and easy-to-follow recipe for kombucha I have ever seen and well worth using the guide to brew your own.
