San Pedro’s “Beacon House Association”  Announces Bristol Farms

as Founding Sponsor of New Fundraiser: 20CHEFS

Zimmern Dinner Launches the Program;

Chance to Buy “One of a Kind Dining Experiences” Ends October 11, 2020

Beacon House of San Pedro announces Bristol Farms, the gourmet grocer of Southern California, as the founding sponsor of 20CHEFS, the first socially-distanced fundraiser for alcohol and drug treatment center for men. Bristol Farms shall provide all or most of the food-related ingredients for the dinners. The mini-events, launched at the beginning of August, have already raised close to $100,000.

For more than thirty years, Bristol Farms has supported local farms and launched countless emerging brands. Providing grocery essentials, as well as artisanal ingredients for both professional and home chefs, Bristol Farms offers variety and convenience in a one-stop-shop. Consistently rated the best small market, deli, and meat department by local media, the company now has fourteen locations, spanning from Palm Desert to its newest store in Santa Barbara.

“We believe that food has the power to bring us together and create lasting memories,” said Steve Howard, Bristol Farms VP of Perishables. “We’re honored to come together with these amazing chefs in support of Beacon House Association of San Pedro—and to celebrate the graduates, especially those who went through the culinary training program. To see them working with such renowned chefs really brings Beacon House’s mission to life.”

As a non-profit dedicated to recovery and community-builders, we are grateful for Bristol Farms’ pledge,” states Beacon House Association of San Pedro’s executive director, Brian Smith. “During this unprecedented pandemic, we feel a deep responsibility in providing the best treatment for graduates. We want them to be great area leaders, devoted family members, and steadfast members of society.”

They had a $225,000.00 shortfall because of COVID-19. They reached out to nationally recognized chef and event co-chairs, Christine Brown, of the newly opened Pacific Standard Prime, and Michael Shafer, Torrance’s Depot, to top the event’s menu.
Together the duo enlisted cooking stars such as:
Food Network host Andrew Zimmern,
Indianapolis’s Jeremy Martindale at The Alexander Hotel,
Victor Juarez (Fuego at Hotel Maya), to participate.
Additional chefs include:
Paul Buchanan/ Primal Alchemy (Caterer),
Peter Carpenter (Gourmet to You),
Betty Fraser/ As You Like It Catering, formerly of Grub, Hollywood,
Kashi Aghilipour/ Think Prime,
Trina Mendoza/ Babouch,
Tom Compagnon/ Compagnon Wine Bistro, and others.

–Each occasion will be socially distanced as per the Center of Disease Control guidelines and state and local ordinances.

–No more than ten people or five couples will be in participating in private experiences.

Dining purchases can also be made via email at the 20chefs@beaconhouse.org.
