You might remember my author/poet DB Leighton’s previous poetic contributions. He’s been so busy writing since before Christmas that  he finally sent some poems and/or prose over to me for review.  He’s truly been inspired and his poems are amazing. I remember reading a couple that had me pretty much mesmerized.  I will be sharing his new writing efforts every week. Today is the day for you to see the work he has been doing.

Karmic Shelter

She walks between raindrops,
laughing ‘til dawn.
She’s my Karmic Shelter,
sweet song from beyond.
My friends they all tell me,
they give me fair warning.
Love comes and it goes,
she’ll be gone by the morning.
Let’s hide in safe haven,
of your lighted umbrella.
We can walk streets of Rome,
where you’ll be mia bella.
The wee hours of half light ,
shadow splayed naked forms.
The lightning takes snapshots,
our thunder drives the storm.
My fingers gone flaxen,
your hair I drink in,
The lift from your kisses,
our dance soon begins.
You’re my Karmic Shelter,
I’ll seek your embrace.
The raindrops can’t touch me,
it’s good Karma I face.
