Beijo for Handbags, Beijo for the Holidays!
Beijo Bags Fall 2005 JEWEL collection
When you are a kid, sometimes you wonder what you will be when you grow up. Everyone goes through those steps in what is essentially preparation for being an adult. Some people grow up already knowing what they want to be. No matter how what they decide to do, that dream, that ambition still sits in the back of their mind and eventually it percolates to the top as situations present themselves.
That’s exactly the situation Susan Handley found herself as a single mother and needing to find a means to support herself and her child. She turned to her childhood dream and started designing handbags. Family and friends were involved in helping Susan –in morale boosting and financially– get started. Even her child got involved: the toddler Kyle kept asking for a beijo–Portuguese for "kiss" and that’s what became the name of the company, Beijo Bags.
Beijo Bags Equinox (metallic) collection
Eighteen months later, the bags were hit–not at department stores– but with consumers who were sold –literally and figuratively– on the bags through home parties. Finding that her success could help others in similar situations, Susan created a home party distribution where women could be at home with children and still make a living — doing something that they loved doing which is socializing with other women.
Beijo Bags It’s a Snap wristlet collection
Thus Beijo Bags are sold at harvest fairs, trunk shows and holiday or seasonal boutiques across the country by women who are seeking to achieve what Handley has – a measure of financial independence.
Springboarding off her success, Handley seeks to spread the wealth , via a CD to be sold at these same parties, boutiques and fairs. "A Very Beijo Christmas," is a new CD filled with wonderful arrangements of Christmas musical favorites and will be available on the website. This CD features performances by some of Hollywood’s top musicians, along with a delightful reading of “‘Twas The Night Before Christmas” by Beijo founder/designer, Susan Handley.
The holiday treats start with the purchase of the CD. Each buyer has the chance of winning a selection of three handbags from Beijo’s Fall 2005 Collection –FREE!!! The lucky buyer of every 200th CD will win three handbags from the Beijo Collection, and will be notified personally with a phone call from Susan Handley. Now that’s pretty amazing and something that’s very much within reach.
