If you aren’t in Southern California, you aren’t going to be too interested in this — unless you know about Keaton Simons. Considering the amount of touring he’s been doing in 2007, there should be a lot of people out there who have heard him live and on CD.
Keaton Simons wraps up his ‘residency” at the Hotel Cafe Saturday, Dec 8 at about 8:30 pm.. with a show sponsored by KCRW–which means you can buy tickets online. This is going to be an amazing night– great performers before and after but the highlight is the KCRW sponsored closing night performance by Keaton Simons! He’s on my top ten musicians list and his cds are always in my car.
I was at the event last week on 12/1 to see Keaton play live with a great bunch of back up musicians including a smokin’ hot piano player (cute too). I snagged a few videos and I have a video PLUS an interview done in the garage behind the Hotel Cafe –down in the lower level where the acoustics are better. (It’s where THE KIN did their acoustic version of “New Day” and where I first interviewed them and they introduced us to a new song. . Keaton, if you are reading this, now you know why I know this garage so well. )
